The missing portrait lens...

I ran into the problem with this FOV being missing when I was shooting nikon APS-C and it appears to be a missing lens in the fuji lineup as well.

When I was shooting film, the 105mm FOV on FF was always my favorite for indoor portraits. Every camera maker had a really good lens in this FOV and it's perfect for indoor portrait shooting. The sigma 70mm F2.8 macro worked well on nikon dx but I would have preferred it be F2 to equal the look I can get from a 105mm lens at f2.8. I ended up buying into FF to be able to use the 105mm F2 DC lens, which really pushes all the right buttons for me. I never shoot it opened up past f2.8 so a 70mm f2 would work fine for me, but is a lens that just doesn't exist in the Nikon F mount nor does it appear on the Fuji road map.

I did find that trying to use an 85mm lens on APS-C in a small indoor studio was problematic, just too long for that environment but works well outdoors. The Fuji 90 will have the same problem but will likely be great for outdoor portraits.

Anyway, here is wishing Fuji will release a 70mm f2 lens with creamy smooth bokeh
