Guanylic acid
DescriptionGuanylic acid is a component of ApplicationGuanylic acid and its salts (guanylates) are used as flavour enhancers:
Gene technologyGuanylic acid may be manufactured with the aid of genetically modified microorganisms. However, the commercial presence and prevalence of this process cannot be determined in individual cases. Labelling: Additives that are manufactured in closed systems with the aid of genetically modified microorganisms need not be labelled as such, provided that the additive has been purified and contains no microorganisms. If the employed microorganisms have received nutrients (substrate) from genetically modified plants, the additive remains exempt from labelling.
