Our annual SEA Speed Networking Night gives students an opportunity to practice networking skills with engineering alumni.
The Society of Engineering Alumni is committed to fostering personal growth, professional excellence, business development, and leadership throughout the Hopkins Engineering community. In these endeavors, the SEA actively supports connections between engineering alumni, currents students, faculty, and WSE leadership.
Whether you can help plan a social event in your region or offer advice to current students, the SEA is dependent on engineering alumni who volunteer their time and resources.
SEA Volunteer Opportunities
The Mentoring Program pairs our promising students with our accomplished alumni. The program helps engineering students make informed career choices and provides them with the opportunity to learn from our alumni. The one-on-one mentoring program includes contact by email, phone and personal meetings. Face-to-face meetings are encouraged, but they are not required. Many alumni enjoy this enriching experience. Typically, mentoring lasts one academic year. But the program is flexible enough to accommodate occasional meetings as well longer mentoring relationships.

- Career Night is a program consisting of a panel of 3-4 alumni who each speak about their experiences in the real world, followed by a networking reception where students and alumni can get to know each other better.
- Mock Interview Night is a wonderful way for Hopkins Engineering Alumni to give current undergraduate and graduate engineering students helpful interviewing tips by critiquing one-on-one interviews. You will have the opportunity to work with multiple students in addition to networking with all of the students at the end of the program.

- The Hopkins Alumni Admissions Volunteers (HAAV) are a group of alumni that support the office of undergraduate admissions in its goals of attracting and enrolling the most qualified students into Johns Hopkins University. HAAV members support the admissions process in three main ways: conducting interviews with prospective students, participating in recruiting events and attending admitted student receptions.
