Hopkins Men's Lacrosse History and Tradition
Few schools, in even fewer sports, can match the history, tradition and success of the Johns Hopkins lacrosse program. Since Hopkins first fielded an intercollegiate team in 1883, the Blue Jays have produced some of the greatest players and coaches the game has seen. From its 44 national championships, 9 NCAA titles, 183 First Team All-Americans and 42 NCAA Tournament appearances, the Blue Jays have upheld the highest standards on and off the field. In the history of college lacrosse, the measuring stick has been and always will be Johns Hopkins.
