  • This is an unbelievable read! So you buy an advanced camera so you can use raw to maximise your post processing power. Then you have to buy/update industry standard software or mess around with ...
  • Sums it up really - the second best one by inference is the Sony because although we haven't tested it yet all signs point to it being very capable.
    !!!!

  • I noticed that! It also put "against" the KS1 "No waterproof body". It didn't seem to bother them with the Canons and Nikons! Perhaps only Pentax users go out in the rain ;-)

  • They could have done that. But there are other excellent cameras in that range! What's the point of a "Superzoom" without a superzoom lens pray? It's for people who want a large zoom range - e.g...

  • I'm a big Pentax fan and owner but this is just plain daft. Well at least to Europe and the USA but I guess not to their main markets in Asia - Ricoh wouldn't do it otherwise.

  • Well I'm sane real person and have got a K3 and it will knock your sub £1000 Canon into a cocked hat anytime!

  • I have! Results are mixed although the 50mm prime is quite good as the World's smalest 300mm telephoto and IQ pretty good!

  • I find the "stylish" and "fashion accessory" tags hilarious. By any measure 15 years ago this camera would have been considered ugly and old fashioned looking! Old is the new new as is always the...

  • I thought Sony had in body stabilisation like Pentax?

  • No Pentax mount - yet . Doh!

  • Commented on Hands-on with the Pentax K-S1 article

It's a good point and I do have a K3. Just thinking for back up body only when the price drops below K50 (and it will) as it is smaller and lighter, especially if the new 20mp sensor turns out to...

My Pentax Q metal body cost £90 new! Fantastic image quality with the prime. Features you could only dream of in a compact. With a £20 adapter and my DA*300 I can get approx 1750mm stunning video...

  • Commented on Hands-on with the Pentax K-S1 article

Saved me writing it! You forgot the more rugged well made body by the way. It might be Pentax's entry level but it's mid -range for the others!

  • Commented on Hands-on with the Pentax K-S1 article

It dsidn't stop DPR immediately downgrading Pentax 's "mid class" description to "Entry Level" though did it.

  • Why they keep taking away viewfinders is beyond me. It probably halves the potential market.

  • Can't get on with mine. The screen wavers about and I generally feel giddy when wearing them - ok long distance for driving but that's about it.
  • I have purchased a magnifying loupe hood which I use on my Pentax Q compact system camera. It is quite good in that it fits magnetically and can easily be removed but it doesn't have dioptre ...
  • I'm amazed that so many maufacturers don't realise that the buyers with the most expendable income - the over 45's, almost all start requiring reading glasses from that age. The move towards LCD ...
  • Commented on Pentax K-3 preview

Irony ;-) Still not quite got it have we!

  • Commented on Pentax K-3 preview

I doubt it Jon on what I've seen so far. " it's a surprise to be shooting with a DSLR again and remember how variable the metering can be, compared with the mirrorless cameras I've been using." ......
