The Buzz: One advantage to having a time-travel storyline to manipulate: when your biggest star drops out of the sequel, you can easily introduce a new character as a pretty seamless replacement. That's the case here with Adam Scott stepping in as the son of absentee dad Adam Yates, who was played by John Cusack in the first movie. Cusack will be missed, though it's no surprise he opted out given his open disdain for Hollywood which has received headlines as he's been promoting Maps to the Stars.

Certificate PG-13 Comedy

A high school senior instigates a social pecking order revolution after finding out that she has been labeled the DUFF (Designated Ugly Fat Friend) to her prettier more popular friends.

The Buzz: Since the high-school comedy is one of our favorite movie settings, when something like The DUFF comes along with its similarities to Easy A, we cross our fingers and hope for a handful of relatable characters and immortal one-liners. Note that Ari Sandel, who won an Oscar for his short West Bank Story, makes his feature-film debut as director here.

Certificate PG   -   Drama | Sport

Metascore: 58/100 (10 reviews)
A cross country coach in a small California town transforms a team of athletes into championship contenders.

The Buzz: It's cool to see director Niki Caro (Whale Rider/North Country) handling this inspirational drama that could emerge as one of Kevin Costner's better-performing movies of late; combined, Black or White, Draft Day, and 3 Days to Kill have earned well under $100 million at the U.S. box office. Most major studios are trying to find a movie that will connect with Latino audiences the way Instructions Not Included did in the fall of 2013.

Certificate R   -   Comedy | Drama | Thriller

Metascore: 76/100 (12 reviews)
A story about love deception, the return of the past, a tragedy, or even the violence contained in an everyday detail, appear themselves to push them towards the abyss, into the undeniable pleasure of losing control.

The Buzz: Best of luck to this Oscar-nominated, Pedro Almodovar-produced film this Sunday!

The Buzz: Gloria Trevi's time in the spotlight sounds incredible when you break it down into soundbites: she left home for Mexico City at 15, released her solo album at 22, built a global audience through the 1990s, and found herself imprisoned at the turn of the millennium on charges of running a sex cult of underage children with her then-manager, Sergio Andrade. Having re-established her career after being exonerated on the charges, it's no wonder Trevi has tried to block this movie's release, which we hear focuses more on her salacious past than what came after that dark period.
