The Calandra Institute's Associate Director of Administration Rosaria Musco with Tony Danza and Liberty DeVitto. The two men, along with New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo, were this year's honorees.

The Calandra Institute's annual conference of international scholars MAFIAs: Realities and Representations of Organized Crime took place April 25-26, 2014, at John Jay College of Criminal Justice and at the Calandra Institute. To read the program, click here.

Additionally, three very important topics were addressed, namely, the role of gender; the impact of technology; and intersections with other crimes, such as environmental crimes. Each of these three areas has not received the attention it truly warrants, and learning that researchers and academics around the world are studying these topics was exciting indeed! ... [T]his conference offered a snapshot of several exciting and important research projects occurring in the broader discourse of organized crime; it was timely, refreshing, and of course, a real treat!"
