Hoenn remakes confirmed! — Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire announced for November 2014!

After years of pleading to the forces of the Hoenn region, it appears that Hoenn fans have finally had their pleas answered: this November, Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire are to be released worldwide for the Nintendo 3DS!

Yes, that's right. Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Hoenn remakes confirmed!

There aren't too many details about the game just yet, but from the sounds of it, it is not just a remake, but an entirely new adventure. Additionally, even looking at the official box art implies that there's something going on with Groudon and Kyogre.

Here's the full press release, which expands on what it says over on the official website:

BELLEVUE, WA — May 7, 2014 — The Pokémon Company International and Nintendo announced today that Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire will launch worldwide in November 2014, exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems. Pokémon fans will collect, battle, and trade Pokémon in a new adventure.

Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire are a fresh take on Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire, which launched in 2003 and were fan-favorite hits on the Game Boy Advance system. The new titles promise to take players through a dramatic story within a spectacular new world.

Needless to say, it's incredibly exciting to hear that there will, indeed, be new Pokémon games this year, and that The Pokémon Company and The Pokémon Company International have listened to the pleas for Hoenn remakes. Of course, it hasn't been 100% confirmed that these games take place in Hoenn, but being a "fresh take on Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire" suggests it.

UPDATE (9:42am CDT): Added the full press release.
