“ This was Tina Fey and Amy Poehler's third and last time hosting the Globes, and though their zingers were kinder, they didn't shy away from throwing Bill Cosby under the bus.
Following a few friendly, harmless jokes related to movies and nominees, Fey and Poehler got to the utterly innocent fairytale-themed Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy nominee Into the Woods. That's when they struck. "In 'Into the Woods,' Cinderella runs from her prince, Rapunzel is thrown from a tower by her prince and Sleeping Beauty just thought she was getting coffee with Bill Cosby." Both Fey and Poehler followed with their best imitations of Cosby babbling about "putting the pills in the people." Ouch. Also, HA! ” People: Tina Fey, Amy Poehler

“ North Korea also provided material for Fey and Poehler, but to help them make light of the recent Sony hacking fiasco, they enlisted the help of Margaret Cho, who appeared as the newest Hollywood Foreign Press Association member and a correspondent for North Korean magazine Movies Wow! (Some may recall that Cho has done this schtick before, appearing as Kim Jong-Il on an episode of "30 Rock".)
Cho's reporter sternly insisted on a picture with Meryl Streep (which was photo-bombed by Benedict Cumberbatch), and later informed viewers she would be hosting next year's Globes telecast. That would be fun. ” Titles: 72nd Golden Globe Awards (2015 TV Special)

“ All told, the celebrities at this year's Globes were more well-behaved than they were in ceremonies past, but Jeremy Renner did his level best to inject some naughtiness into the evening as he presented the award for Best Actor for Mini-series or movie made for TV with Jennifer Lopez.
Renner suggests that J-Lo open the envelope, and she agrees. "I have the nails," she says. "You got the globes, too," he deadpans. Look at that dress. He's not wrong. ” People: Jennifer Lopez, Jeremy Renner

“ And then, there was Prince.
The enigmatic singer surprised us by appearing -- while carrying a cane and wearing platform shoes, naturally -- to present the award for Best Original Song in a Movie. The Globe went to "Glory" from Selma, by John Legend and Common. ” People: Prince

“ On a night marked by upsets, one of the sweetest was relative newcomer Gina Rodriguez's win for Best Actress in a Comedy for The CW's "Jane the Virgin".
"This award is so much more than myself," she said. "It represents a culture that wants to see themselves as heroes. My father used to tell me, to say every morning, 'Today is a great day. I can and I will.' Well, Dad, today is a great day. I can and I did." ” People: Gina Rodriguez

“ Although Golden Globe winner Jeffrey Tambor was a favorite in the Best Actor in a Comedy Series category, another wonderful, unexpected upset came at the hands of Amazon Studios' "Transparent," which beat other heavy-hitting contenders to seize the statue in the Best Comedy category.
Capturing the beauty of this moment was executive producer Jill Soloway's acceptance speech, in which she thanked her show family and dedicated the award to Leelah Alcorn and "too many trans people who die too young." She also acknowledged her trans parent at home, "my Moppa," and expressed her hope "to teach the world something about authenticity and love." ” Titles: 72nd Golden Globe Awards (2015 TV Special)

“ It may have been a big night for this year's Cecil B. DeMille Award recipient George Clooney, but for so many watching at home, the night belonged less to him than to his new wife Amal.
In the show's opening monologue Tina Fey got one of her biggest laughs with this complimentary joke: "Amal is a human rights lawyer who worked on the Enron case, was an advisor to Kofi Anan regarding Syria and was selected for a three person UN commission regarding war violations in the Gaza Strip. So tonight her husband is getting a lifetime achievement award." But George Clooney knows how to steal people's hearts, and he won the night with this tearful declaration of love, delivered in front of millions. "It's a humbling thing when you find someone to love, even better when you've been waiting your whole life....Amal, whatever alchemy it is that brought us together, I couldn't be more proud to be your husband." ” People: George Clooney, Amal Alamuddin

“ Sometimes a little Ricky Gervais is all a Globes show needs. Gervais did not disappoint, as he stepped to the podium while carrying a wine glass full of beer to present the award for Best Actress in Motion Picture, Musical/Comedy. Who knows what the writers put together for him? Here's what he said.
"It's going well, isn't it? Let's not ruin it by me saying, anything, really. No one wants to see me insult any of you beautiful, rich, over-privileged celebrities. No ordinary people want to see that, because you're better than ordinary people. And you know it and they know it, deep down. So I'm not going to start picking on things you've done, some of it immoral, a lot of it illegal. But if we've learned one thing, it's that famous people are above the law - as it should be. I won't go into the terrible things you've done to get here tonight. Streep. Clooney. I'm not even looking at Katie Holmes. So let's get on with it before I say something insulting." Then he destroyed the pronunciation of Quvenzhané Wallis's name. Then he announced Amy Adams as the winner for her performance in Big Eyes. And, scene. ” People: Ricky Gervais

“ "The artists in this next category tell their compelling stories through computer clicks, brush stores and imaginations fueled by weed," joked Kevin Hart.
Then Salma Hayek piped in with "No marijuana... uh, no matter what the inspiration, their brilliance is beyond compare." This was all leading up to Hart stepping on Hayek's announcement of "How to Train Your Dragon 2" as the winner for Best Animated Film. Were you expecting the improved comic stylings of Hart and Hayek? We weren't. But the two were so dopey and cute that we hope they turn up in a film together. ” People: Salma Hayek, Kevin Hart

“ One of the night's most beautiful moments was created by Michael Keaton, winner for Best Actor in Motion Picture, Musical/Comedy for his work in "Birdman."
On an evening of self-congratulation and artifice, Keaton stood before his peers and delivered an acceptance speech in which he introduced himself as Michael John Douglas, the seventh of seven children, saying that when his mother wasn't busy praying the rosary, she volunteered at the hospital where he would eventually be born... in a hallway. Through tears, he tells the world that his son is his best friend. Douglas said he promised himself he wouldn't cry, but his demonstration of vulnerability is part of the reason he won the Globe in the first place. But if he really doesn't want to cry during his acceptance speeches, perhaps getting it out at the Globes is just what he needs. Next stop: Oscars? We hope so. ” People: Michael Keaton
