創立記念行事(式辞) 真の強さが時代から要請されている。真の強さとは、日本刀が、鋼と軟鉄を幾重にも重ね鍛えることによって強さとしなやかさを 保持するのと同様に、ゆるぎない愛国心に裏打ちされた厳しい訓練と、家族を含めた個人の幸せを幾重にも折り重ね、 鍛錬を続けることにより達成される。各部隊長を核心とし、与えられた任務を完遂し得る強靭で無敵の第1空挺団を目指そう。 Biographies Major General Kimihito Iwamura Commander,1st Airborne Brigade Major General Iwamura graduated from the National Defense Academy and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Infantry in 1986. He began his career as a platoon leader in the 44th Infantry Regiment, Fukushima Pref. and served as an Instructor (Tactical), Infantry Department, Fuji School after completion of Infantry Advanced Officer Course. He has served in a wide variety of positions throughout his 28-year career. His assignments included duty with: Instructor (Tactical), Chemical School; Senior Logistic Staff, UNDOF Headquarters, Syria; Company Commander, Infantry Group, 1st Airborne Brigade; Personnel Planning Division, Personnel Department, Ground Staff Office (GSO); Researcher, Ground Self Defense Force Research & Deployment Command; Plans & Operations Department, GSO. General Iwamura assigned as the Commander, Task Planning and Coordination Unit (Iraq) in 2005. He then served as the Chief, Organization Section, Plans & Operations Department, GSO from December 2005 Until April 2008 followed by assignment as the Commanding Officer, 12th Infantry Regiment in 2008. He was then assigned to Policy & Programs Division, Policy & Programs Department, GSO as Deputy Chief. His previous assignment was as Director, Plans, Operations & Training Department, Western Army Headquarters. His military education includes the Command and General Staff Course, GSDF Staff College; Peace Keeping Operations Staff Course, Austria; United States Marine Corps Command and General Staff College; and Special Course, the National Institute for Defense Studies, Japan. Some of his awards and decorations include 2nd Award (Senior Logistics Staff, UNDOF Headquarter), Chief of the International Peace Cooperation Headquarters award (Senior Logistics Staff, UNDOF Headquarter), 1st Award (Commander, Task Planning and Coordination Unit (Iraq) and 3rd Award (Commander, 12th Infantry Regiment). He is married and they have a son and a daughter.
