‘Unbroken’ Reviews: Angelina Jolie’s Star Jack O’Connell Gets More Critical Praise Than She Does

After much hype from Universal Pictures, Angelina Jolie‘s “Unbroken” finally hits theaters on Christmas Day — but is it any good?

According to the critics counted on Rotten Tomatoes, it’s fine, but probably not the awards contender the studio was hoping for. Although declared “rotten” with a 48 percent critic approval rating, individual reviews seem to be filled with mixed emotions that should boost Jolie’s confidence behind the camera, and star Jack O’Connell‘s in front of it.

Ratings: ‘State of Affairs’ Falls, ‘Mike & Molly’ Christmas Special Slips

‘Tis not the season to be airing originals.

NBC’s “State of Affairs” dropped 27 percent in the advertiser-sought 18-49 demographic on Monday, while a last-minute “Mike & Molly” Christmas special dipped to tie a series low last night. To be fair, this holiday week is one with less-than-ideal viewing levels, which is why many shows and networks are going the route of the repeat.

NBC was first in ratings with a 1.4 rating/4 share in the key demo and third in viewers with an average of 4.9 million, according to preliminary numbers. That said, with an NFL preemption in Cincinnati, NBC’s numbers are subject to change. »

Bill O’Reilly Calls on NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio to Resign: He’s an ‘Incompetent Villain’ (Video)

On his show Monday night, Bill O’Reilly called on NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio to resign for his handling of race relations in the city that the Fox News host believes has contributed to hostility toward police.

“He is a far left individual who is incompetent,” O’Reilly said. “He can not run the city of New York.”

However, O’Reilly didn’t go as far as suggesting de Blasio had direct responsibility for Ismaaiyl Brinsley ambushing and killing police officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos on Saturday, but he did suggest he’s made the situation worse.

One Direction Performs Christmas Classic With Jimmy Fallon and The Roots (Video)

One Direction stripped their sound down to classroom instruments to sing a Christmas classic with Jimmy Fallon and The Roots on Tuesday night’s episode of “The Tonight Show” on NBC.

The British boy band took on “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town,” sharing the lead with Fallon and spotlighting perhaps more classroom instruments than have yet been seen on this recurring segment. They tackled the more rock-and-roll version of the song, taking turns on the lead and even allowing Fallon a silly falsetto toward the end.

3 Reasons Security Experts Are Unconvinced North Korea Was Behind Sony Hack

The U.S. government accused North Korea of carrying out vicious hacks against Sony Pictures Entertainment on Friday. But several cyber-security experts and hackers are unconvinced there’s evidence to indict Kim Jong-un’s regime.

President Barack Obama, Secretary of State John Kerry and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are confident the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea is responsible for the breach, which resulted in gigabytes worth of leaked private data and the shelving of Seth Rogen and James Franco‘s assassination comedy “The Interview.”

‘Better Call Saul’ Teaser Goodman Gets Caught Up in the Cash, Winning in (Video)

Saul Goodman is seeking atonement in the new teaser trailer for AMC’s “Better Call Saul.”

Well, that’s not entirely correct: It is actually James M. McGill — what Goodman used to be known as — who makes that declaration in the 30-second snippet for the upcoming “Breaking Bad” prequel. And, also, he doesn’t really care about the humanity aspect of the atonement — he just wants the money and the courtroom “W.”

A United States diplomat called North Korea a “living nightmare” Monday, during a United Nations Security Council meeting on the country’s dismal human rights record.

The meeting examined testimony from North Korean exiles and included stories of prison guards routinely raping prisoners, and others who had to dig kernels of corn out of cow dung to eat.

“They [the reports] show North Korea for what it is: a living nightmare,” said Samantha Powers, U.S. Ambassador to the Un.
