Weekly Ratings Notes for Adult Swim, Cartoon Network, TBS, TNT & NBA TV: 'Major Crimes', 'The Librarians','Transporter: The Series', 'Ground Floor', 'Deal With It' & More

For the third week of December 2014, Adult Swim ranked #1 in total day among adults 18-34 and adults 18-49. Adult Swim also accounted for 24 of basic cable's Top 50 programs for the week among adults 18-34, more than any other network.

Last week's episodes of the hit TNT series Major Crimes and The Librarians ranked as basic cable's Top 2 originals for the week among total viewers. The Librarians also landed among the Top 2 scripted originals for the week among adults 25-54.

Last Monday's new episode and encore telecast of Major Crimes has drawn 6.8 million viewers in Live + 3 delivery (+4% vs. the prior week) with 2.1 million adults 25-54 (+11%) and 1.6 million adults 18-49 (+13%). So far for the season-to-date, Major Crimes is averaging a reach of 8.9 million viewers per episode for its premiere telecasts, encores and multi-platform plays.

Sunday night’s new episode and encore telecast of The Librarians drew a combined audience of 4.2 million viewers in Live + Same Day delivery and scored strong growth over the prior week in key demos, with 1.8 million adults 25-54 (+6%) and 1.4 million adults 18-49 (+10%). Across all platforms, The Librarians is averaging a reach to 12.4 million viewers per episode.

  

Saturday night's new episode and encore of Transporter The Series averaged an initial audience of 1.4 million viewers in Live + Same Day delivery. With additional DVR, replays and multiplatform viewing included, Transporter The Series is averaging a reach of 3.5 million viewers per episode for the fall.

 

TNT’s NBA telecast featuring the Oklahoma City Thunder against the Golden State Warriors on Thursday, Dec. 18, averaged 2,029,000 total viewers with a 1.3 U.S. household ratingup 31% and 18%, respectively, over the comparable game last year (San Antonio Spurs against the Warriors). Overall, TNT’s doubleheader – also featuring the New York Knicks against the Chicago Bulls – averaged 1,888,000 total viewers and a 1.2 U.S. household rating, up 14% and 9%, respectively, over the comparable telecast last year.

TBS's Ground Floor scored growth in its second week of the new season, with a combined delivery of 2 million viewers in Live + 3 (+4% vs. the prior week) for Tuesday night's new episode and encore. The growth was even stronger in key demos as the show drew 1.3 million adults in 18-49 (+13% vs. the prior week) and 533,000 adults 18-34 (+15%). So far, Ground Floor is averaging a reach of 3.1 million viewers for premiere, encore and multiplatform plays.

Friday night's season finale episodes and encore telecasts of Deal With It averaged a preliminary audience of 1.7 million viewers in Live + Same Day delivery, with a +41% increase among adults 18-34 compared to the prior week. Across all plays and platforms, Deal With It is averaging a reach of 2.4 million viewers per episode for the season-to-date.

 

The Big Bang Theory on TBS claimed 17 of basic cable's Top 20 sitcom telecasts for the week among total viewers and adults 18-49.

NBA TV

NBA TV's total day viewership has grown +5% through Sunday, Dec. 21, including considerable audience increases for its full slate of original programming. The premiere of Making the Call on Thursday, Dec. 18, saw an increase of +246% in total viewers when compared to its debut in 2013, and the premiere of One-on-One with Ahmad Rashad on Friday, Dec. 19, was +100% over its corresponding episode last year. Additionally, viewership for NBA Inside Stuff on Saturday, Dec. 20, was +7% vs. 2013, and viewership for last week’s original airings of The Starters saw an increase of +32% over the same week in 2013.
