Police said that Sekar assaulted two of his fellow workers, before fleeing from the scene of the crime. One of the victims died on Saturday night at 7.30pm at the hospital, while the other was still in critical condition, said RBPF in their statement. Uniformed personnel were already hard at work when The Brunei Times arrived at the site of the incident yesterday morning. RBPF, with the assistance of the Gurkha Reserve Unit, were seen scanning the forest nearby looking for possible entry points as well as stationing officers at various locations surrounding the university to act as lookouts. Additionally, personnel from the Traffic Control and Investigation Department (JSKLL) were also dispatched to patrol the perimeter of the university. Receiving help from the Forest Police RUC Unit (Polis Hutan), The Brunei Times also observed several officers investigating temporary huts found erected at the outskirts of the university. To speed up investigations, the Gurkha Reserve Unit brought dogs to the crime scene to find the suspect using the scent found on the suspect’s clothes. Led by the dogs, officers from the Gurkha Reserve Unit spread themselves and entered the forest from various points of entry, with RBPF personnel following closely behind.
