Disability Program and Reasonable Accommodation Services

The Disability Program and Reasonable Accommodation Services staff (DPRAS) is committed to establishing systems and creating an environment that accommodates, embraces, and assures the inclusion and safety of persons with disabilities employed at CDC.

In accordance with the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended and other pertinent federal guidelines and regulations, DPRAS staff processes requests for reasonable accommodation and, where appropriate, provide reasonable accommodation in a prompt, fair and efficient manner, assuring that individuals with disabilities enjoy full access to equal employment opportunity at CDC.

The DPRAS staff is available to offer training on the reasonable accommodation policy, process and procedures. In addition to managing the accommodation tracking system (ATS), DPRAS serves as a team of expert advisors on facility accessibility and as technical advisors to disability employee organizations and other disability-related advisory committees and workgroups throughout the agency. DPRAS identifies systemic issues faced by persons with disabilities, and advises management on effective solutions to these problems. DPRAS collaborates with AHRC to jointly address reasonable accommodation requests of applicants with disabilities.
