Description
Check out the latest film and DVD classification decisions from the BBFC. Whether you are at home, at the cinema or out and about, get detailed information about why the film or DVD you are thinking of seeing or buying got the classification it did.
All film classification decisions come with BBFCinsight that explains the issues and plot points in any film, enabling you to make informed decisions about what you or your family watch.
Recent film and DVD decisions are downloaded to the app from the BBFC database, subject to an internet connection. When offline however, the information downloaded stays on your device, making it fully accessible even if you are unable to get a signal at your local cinema.

No to 12A Great app if you want to see when a film is certified and what content is used to justify the rating.

Worked well This app worked well till fairly recently where it literally doesn't try to do anything, then crashes

No to 12A Great app if you want to see when a film is certified and what content is used to justify the rating.
Quick support Installed yesterday on galaxy s2, didn't work, emailed support with the issue and they have responded today. Now works. Quality app.
Dvd section broke Good app but since last update the DVD section won't load on my Galaxy S1, no matter how many times I refresh
Almost perfect Just needs to provide access to all decisions, not just recent, to get 5th star.
Won't work on 2 separate devices POS - installed OK on Samsung Galaxy SII and Galaxy Tab 10.1, but both failed on repeated attempts to update/install film database, so the app is unusable. Shame.
Excellent app Easier to navigate than the website, very useful for helping me decide on films for my 11 year old daughter..
Useful and fun Ideal for parents wanting to know exactly what has given a film a rating, so they can decide if it's suitable for their children. Also for film geeks, it's interesting to see what cuts have been made.
Very handy Very useful app for me, as I need to check certificates at work.
Not good Not running on my Desire again. Says can't connect to internet.
Yep agreed, does exactly what it's meant to do... informative and the information is structured very well.
Useful Extremely useful. Kermode uses it. No better recommendation.
Nice and clear Does what it says on the tin, nice and clear listings. Good stuff
Simples Very concise and easy to navigate . Seems to cover information about most films I searched for
Shame Looks really useful but no use to me if I can't run it from the SD card - I'll reinstall if/when I can...
Brilliant resource for parents ... And when you want to know which swear words are in a film :)
A 'must have' for parents taking their children to the cinema! It gives the rating and details of actors and directors which is great for a film geek like me. Best of all though the Insight button gives details of any swear words used and violence shown so you can judge if it is suitable for your child. Especially good when trying to decide about a 12a film - they vary a lot!
Good App Well worth the download. Keeps you up to date on what's being released in the UK.

DVDShelf is very simple to use; the structure and the graphic icons make DVDShelf very intuitive and easy to understanding.
It is also extremely customizable; you can choose which information about the DVD display and which not. UPC and title are always visible.
The DVDs list is compact but its graphical structure allows a quick and easy consultation; an invaluable aid is given by handy Wizard that lets you find the word you need in all DVD's fields.
Finally, the list is sortable by title, director and evaluation, in ascending or descending order.
The detail of the DVD shows the fields configured by the user and the interface is very easy to enter or edit information.
In DVDShelf of great comfort is the DVD's search with UPC barcode scanner: the informations are acquired from the web and the user can complete the informations with its own notes and assessments.
The DVD can be associated with tags, collections and libraries.
The picture of DVD's cover, which is acquired by the web or selected from the gallery, completes the DVD's details.
The DVD archived is later editable in all its parts and can be deleted.
Finally you can share the single DVD with your contacts.
With DVDShelf you can completely manage tags, collections and libraries to bind DVDs.
The useful free search allows you to find the word in the description of the tag, collection or library.
The list is ordered by description, in ascending or descending order.
New and detail form allows you to specify the description of the item.
The element archived is later editable and can be deleted.
DVDShelf allows all data export, DVDs, tags, collections and libraries in order to share data or to use data as backup.
Import operation allows to replace the current data with those of a previous export.
The operations are useful if you need to exchange data from one phone to another or between friends.
Derby Public Library
Search for books, DVDs, audiobooks, CDs, games and more. Place holds or renew items, discover events, ask us a question, and much more!
We've also included a great new way to search our catalog. No need to enter full words, no need to wait for results. Just type the first couple of letters in each word and see the search in action while you type. So for books on "Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis" simply type "ja ke on".
We've invested in the latest mobile solution for libraries and we'll be adding new content over time. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
