LOCKOUT is a science-fiction action thriller. It follows a convicted criminal who is given a chance to redeem himself by rescuing the President's daughter from the high security space prison where she has been taken hostage. The film was classified '15' for strong violence.
The BBFC's Guidelines at '12A'/'12' state 'Moderate violence is allowed but should not dwell on detail'. Although much of the violence is fast-paced and undetailed, there are some bloody sequences that are more appropriately classified at '15'. The stronger moments include a sequence in which a man is punched repeatedly in the face while under interrogation. In another scene, a man's face is held against a heated surface, leaving blood and skin behind. Elsewhere in the film, a heated metal cigarette lighter is held against a man's face, causing him to scream in pain.
The film also includes some moderate verbal sex references and one use of strong language, as well as some milder bad language.
