katie-lowes-guillermo-diaz-kerry-washington-scandal-s4-inside-the-bubble.jpgFans of ABC's drama "Scandal" know to be a viewer of the show, one has to speak a certain language. The show is filled with terminology that's very specific to Olivia Pope's world, and moves so quickly that it can be hard to remember what all the terms mean.

So Gladiators, don't worry if you missed something here or there: Zap2it has it handled. Here's a glossary of all things "Scandal," from the hidden meanings behind standing in the sun to making jam to keep you informed for the fall finale on Thursday (Nov. 20).

B613:
The secret government agency now back under Rowan Pope's (Joe Morton) direction, after briefly being under Jake Ballard's (Scott Foley) leadership. Although the spy organization serves the U.S. government, make no mistake, they answer to no one. B613 performs secret missions with force, relying on torture tactics to gain information.

Baby Huck: The name given to Quinn (Katie Lowes) when she is acting like Huck's (Guillermo Diaz) protege. Not to be confused with "Huckleberry Quinn" -- that is a whole different thing (see below).

Captain Ballard:
The formal title Jake insists Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) use to address him. He does so mostly to show Olivia he is the man and to try to exert power over the president.

Command: The name given to whoever is running B613. Rowan is the current head, with no sign of a changing of the guard in sight.

Creepy Huck: When one of the characters comes home to a dark house to find Huck glaring at them with black eyes in a corner ready to torture. It's seriously what nightmares are made of.

Gabby: The name Fitz accidentally-on-purpose calls former Gladiator turned Press Secretary Abby Whelan (Darby Stanchfield). Despite now knowing her real name, he occasionally will say it just to remind her who's boss.

Gladiators in Suits:
The name bestowed upon on the gang at Olivia Pope and Associates. If you work for OPA, you usually bring up Gladiator when taking a stance on something and fighting for what you believe in.

Huckleberry Quinn:
The name for Huck and Quinn's incredibly dysfunctional relationship. Sometimes they are lovers, sometimes it seems more like a mentorship -- but it's always intriguing.

"It's handled":
The phrase coined by Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) to signal she's taking care of something. It usually also means she is 10 steps ahead in terms of thinking of a solution. Fans of the '90s movie "Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter's Dead" can equate this with "I'm right on top of that, Rose."

Making jam: Part of the fantasy Fitz carries on with Olivia that one day they can go live in Vermont together and instead of being a fixer, Olivia can spend her days making jam when not entangled in the heat of passion.

Pope'd: The "Scandal" version of "pwned," used when a character realizes that Olivia has played him in a major way. Usually employed by David Rosen (Joshua Malina).

Smelly Mellie: The name Fitz gives his wife Mellie (Bellamy Young) when he can't take her form of grieving over the death of their son Jerry Jr. "I have dealt with drunk Mellie, smelly Mellie, screw-everything-to-hell Mellie, eat-everything-that-is-not-nailed-down Mellie. And I have not complained," he says. The first lady has put Smelly Mellie, along with her bathrobe, Ugg boots and fried chicken, behind her, but fans will remember that time fondly.

mellie-cereal.gif Standing in the sun: Standing in the sun means not pretending, full exposure. Olivia first mentions it when she tells Fitz she doesn't want to live in the fantasy land of Vermont, she wants something real. The phrase means living in the truth as it presently is and facing it head on.

Vermont: The place Fitz wants to live out his fantasy life with Olivia. Sadly, these days it seems Olivia would rather stand in the sun than even talk about Vermont.

White hat: A symbol for doing the right thing stemming from the white hats worn by law-abiding characters in old Western films.

Wine & popcorn: A typical dinner for Olivia Pope.

Yahtzee: To use when a trick has been well played.
