From MerDer to Coliver and Olitz: TGIT's sexiest moments so far this season

Shondaland deemed its Thursday night ABC domination as "Thank God It's Thursday" at the beginning of the fall season. In large part the scheduling block earned that name because the production company had put together a triple-header of intoxicating dramas with well-rounded casts and shocking moments guaranteed to be the water cooler conversation of the day on Friday. 

It's also because of the sex. Shondaland productions are not for the prudish, because whether they're in on-call rooms or the Oval Office, the characters of "Grey's Anatomy," "Scandal" and "How to Get Away with Murder" know how to get frisky just as well as they know how to deal with trauma and drama. 

The three shows served up a plethora of steamy scenes in just the past half season, but Zap2it set down to the almost impossible task of picking the best of the best. Grab a water bottle -- this is about to get hot. 

5. Frank and Laurel ('HTGAWM') 

What is it about TV's forbidden affairs that makes them so hot? Laurel has a boyfriend and Frank is a well-reported man whore (oh, and her boss), but the chemistry between them is electric. The one stolen kiss they shared before this scene was just a tease. Seriously, these two are so hot for each other they're doing it on Annalise's porch -- as if walking 100 feet to rip each other's clothes off in Frank's office was just too much.  

4. Derek and Meredith ('Grey's Anatomy')

Season 11 of "Grey's Anatomy" has been admittedly low on the sexy scenes, mostly because every couple currently on the show is part of the "long-term" club. Leave it to Derek and Meredith to bring the heat, though. Their shower scene when Maggie and Richard were waiting outside for dinner was reminiscent of their prom escapade back in Season 2 (which longtime fans will know as the hottest hook up in the show's history). Considering how these two have been annoyingly at each other's throats all season, the shower scene was a surprising but so very welcome turn of events. 

3. Jake and Olivia ('Scandal')

Kerry Washington explained before the "Scandal" Season 4 premiere that Shonda Rhimes only agreed to move the show from 10 p.m. to 9 p.m. if the show was allowed to keep its later time slot's sex appeal. To show nothing had changed, Shonda opened the season with Jake and Olivia having some sexy island loving. Within the first two minutes, Jake is between Olivia's legs asking, "Do you want me to stop?" No Jake, definitely don't stop. 

2. Connor and Oliver ('HTGAWM')

One of the most talked about moments in "How to Get Away with Murder's" short history is Connor Walsh's first sex scene -- and how willing he is to do anything to get the evidence Annalise and her team needs. Connor's sexual prowess simultaneously sparked conservative criticism and made actor Jack Falahee a bonafide Tumblr obsession. Connor had several boiler room-level hot scenes to choose from, but his first encounter with Oliver takes the cake. "I wanted [the emails], but I want this too," he says. We agree, Connor, but we didn't know just how much. 

1. Fitz and Olivia ('Scandal')

When a couple can stop a sexiest scenes list without being in the same room, it says a lot about them. For Fitz and Olivia, their Season 4 relationship has been push and pull as always. But after Olivia tells Fitz there's still hope for them, the President steps his game up in a huge way. He proves that Olivia isn't the only one that can be a tease when he calls her from the Oval Office and describes in detail what he'd do to her if she came over. Olivia's expression as he maps out every kiss and dirty thing he wants to try out pretty much matched the feelings of everyone watching. Even Team Jake members have give Fitz credit here. When it comes to sexual chemistry, no one tops Olitz.
