Greene Farmer

Greene Farmer Jr., born September 8th, 1919 in Spring Creek, AR, was a Negro League baseball player and a professional basketball player.

Greene Farmer Jr. was the son of Greene Farmer Sr. and Rosa Farmer¹. He was born in Arkansas, but by 1930, moved to Chicago with his family². Later, he may have attended Knoxville College, lettering in football, basketball and baseball³. During World War II, Farmer served in the Coast Guard.

Between 1942 and 1947, Greene played with various Negro League teams, including the New York Cubans, Indianapolis Clowns, Cincinnati Crescents, and the New York Black Yankees. During 1946 and 1947, Farmer played professional basketball with the Kansas City Stars, a team affiliated with the Harlem Globetrotters. Farmer may also have played with the Globetrotters⁴.

Farmer died on May 20th, 1982 in San Diego, California⁵ and was buried in Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery⁶.
