Bill McCrary

William "Youngblood" McCrary, born November 5th, 1929 in Beliot, WI1, was a Negro League baseball player from 1946-1947 and a professional baseball player in 1950. McCrary currently resides in Hot Springs Village, AR.

Biography

McCrary grew up in Beloit, WI. He attended a tryout with the St. Louis Cardinals in 1946, but instead earned a job with the Kansas City Monarchs. Teammate Satchel Paige nicknamed him "Youngblood" on account of his youth.

In 1950, McCrary played with the Janesville Cubs in the Wisconsin State League.
