Theolic Smith

Theolic Smith , born May 19th, 1913 in Wabbesika, AR, was a Negro League baseball player from 1935-1951, a Mexican League baseball player from 1940-1948, and a professional baseball player from 1952-1955.

Biography

Smith was the son of Fee Smith and Pearlie Stevenson Smith.1 By 1940, the family was living in St. Louis, MO2.

Smith likely debuted with the Claybrook Tigers in 1935.

Smith was played in the 1939, 1943 and 1951 East-West All-Star games.

Smith died on November 3rd, 1981 in Los Angeles, CA. He was buried in Woodlawn Memorial Park in Compton.

1. The California Death Index notes that Smith's mother's maiden name was Steven. Theolic appears in the 1920 census as the nephew of Charles Dillworth and Louvinia Hornberger Dillworth. Pearlie was the daughter of Louvinia's sister Victoria Hornberger and husband George Stevenson. Pearl married Fee Smith in on December 28th, 1913. Charles, Louvinia, Fee, Pearlie and Theolic are all living together in the 1920 census.
