‘The Walking Dead’ Recap: ‘Strangers’ in the Night

2 hours ago | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

Spoiler Warning: Do not read on unless you’ve seen “The Walking Dead” season five, episode two, titled “Strangers.”

After the adrenaline rush of last week’s season premiere, “Strangers” gives our newly expanded group some much-needed breathing room, but as Abraham presciently points out during the hour, whenever our survivors get a chance to slow down, “shit inevitably goes down.”

In the aftermath of the escape from Terminus, forgiveness is in the air; Rick and Maggie officially welcome Tara into the group despite her previous association with the Governor — an especially poignant act of grace for Maggie, given what the Governor did to Hershel — and Tyreese insists that the rest of the gang must forgive Carol for her actions back at the prison. Rick also shares another meaningful moment with Carol (during which she finally returns his long-lost watch), telling her that he owes her everything for helping to bring Judith back safely. »

Boardwalk Empire 5.07 Review: “Friendless Child”

3 hours ago | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

I don’t cry too often when watching television, and I don’t think I’ve ever started to tear up once during an episode of Boardwalk Empire, not even when Richard Harrow met his poetically tragic end in the closing moments of season four or during Chalky’s final scene in last Sunday’s episode. However, I’d be lying if I said that the ending montage to “Friendless Child” didn’t make me incredibly emotional. For the first time throughout the show’s run, Boardwalk Empire had me on the verge of tears, and it was due to what I originally thought was this season’s biggest weakness becoming its greatest strength. I’m talking, of course, about the flashbacks to Nucky’s past, which throughout the first four episodes of season five, I found to be the least interesting parts of Boardwalk Empire’s swan song. Doctor Who 8.09 Review: Flatline

5 hours ago | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

This week’s episode of Doctor Who may have been one of the most brilliant episodes of Series 8 so far as the companion gets to step in big time. The concept for “Flatline” was mysterious creatures from a “2D Universe” that were trying to understand our 3D universe. Some of the best mysteries of Doctor Who are whenever the monster of the week isn’t 100% clear. The whole deal with the Tardis’ exterior shrinking was hilarious, but it was also a great way to give Clara the opportunity to be the prime focus of the episode. Jenna Coleman has been one heck of an addition to the Doctor Who universe so it was greatly appreciated that she got to do so much in this episode. Seeing her as “Doctor Oswald” was outstanding and even though she was communicating with the Doctor the whole time, you got to see her having… »

'Manhattan' finale: Deconstructing the atomic bomb drama with creator Sam Shaw

6 hours ago | EW - Inside TV | See recent EW.com - Inside TV news »

Implosion. Pre-detonation. Radioactivity. Meltdowns. The terms that define Wgn’s atomic bomb drama Manhattan also apply to its characters, a mix of men and women trying to stop a world war by creating a weapon that could destroy the planet completely. There isn't a simple equation among them. Throughout season one, which came to an end Sunday night with its thirteenth episode (“Perestroika”), the show mastered the art of contradiction, presenting heroes you root for even as they betray their own better natures. In the finale, the scientists of Los Alamos are still far from the breakthroughs they will need »

Revenge Recap: Allow Me to Reintroduce Myself

6 hours ago | TVLine.com | See recent TVLine.com news »

David Clarke, “a symbol of hope and courage?” That’s what the media’s calling him after Sunday’s Revenge, though it’s totally Ok if you still see him as the self-whipping, daughter-attacking, insane beard-having lunatic we’ve all grown to love.

With Victoria and Charlotte by his side — and Emily in the audience at her most emotionally wrecked — David fed the press his sob story, which they gobbled up like free Molly at a Brooklyn rave. My personal favorite anecdote was that Conrad faked David’s death, then paid »

The Good Wife Recap: The Personal Is the Political

6 hours ago | TVLine.com | See recent TVLine.com news »

And you thought the clowns from American Horror Story: Freak Show were scary? How about the ones haunting the mind of The Good Wife‘s Elsbeth Tascioni?

Ok, maybe they’re not exactly haunting her, but some of ‘em are darn sure trying to stop her from coming up with a solid defense strategy for her corporate client in a gender discrimination lawsuit by a fired CEO.

“Shiny Objects,” as the hour is titled, pits Elsbeth and partner Rayna Hecht against Florrick-Agos’ Alicia and Dean — and provides an altogether less stressful and significantly more self-contained viewing experience than the quartet »

'The Walking Dead' star Michael Cudlitz talks about the big mission to Washington, D.C.

7 hours ago | EW - Inside TV | See recent EW.com - Inside TV news »

[Spoiler Alert: Read on only if you have already watched Sunday’s episode of The Walking Dead.] The man is persistent, give him that. Sgt. Abraham Ford wants to get to Washington, D.C. and is pretty insistent on recruiting Rick and Co. to join them. But, as we saw on Sunday’s “Strangers” episode of The Walking Dead, that persistence may have paid off as Judith kinda, sorta convinced daddy to sign on. However, there is now the whole Gareth situation to consider. After losing Terminus to zombies, Gareth and a few of his cannibalistic cohorts kidnapped Bob and feasted on his leg. How much is Abraham responsible for that since he and the others would »

'The Walking Dead' star Steven Yeun on if Glenn would have kept Tara's secret from Maggie

7 hours ago | EW - Inside TV | See recent EW.com - Inside TV news »

[Spoiler Alert: Read on only if you have already watched Sunday’s episode of The Walking Dead.] Blame it on Glenn. Well, not just Glenn. But blame it on the whole group for not letting Rick go back and finish off the Terminus folks when they had the chance. As a result, Gareth is now finishing off a tasty meal consisting of Bob Stookey’s leg. But therein lies the dilemma of season 5 of The Walking Dead. How far is too far in a world now dealing almost exclusively in extremes? We chatted with the man who plays Glenn, Steven Yeun, to get his thoughts on season 5’s first two episodes, whether they were wrong to not »

The Walking Dead Recap: Meat 'N' Greet

7 hours ago | TVLine.com | See recent TVLine.com news »

With the introduction of Seth Gilliam as Father Gabriel Stokes in this week’s episode of The Walking Dead, absolution seemed to be on a lot of our survivors’ minds. Unfortunately, one member of the group wound up in a predicament so dire, they might not live long enough to even make confession! Who was it? Read on and find out.

New Beginnings | As “Strangers” began, Rick let Tara know that, in spite of her past affiliation with the Governor, they were cool, and she sealed their new understanding with a fist bump. Nearby, Tyreese assured Carol that those who »
