Claybrook Field

Claybrook Field was baseball park in Claybrook, AR and home of the Negro Claybrook Tigers from 1929-1937. The Tigers operated in the Negro Southern League from 1935-1936.

History

Claybrook Field was located in Claybrook, AR, about 30 miles southwest of Memphis, TN, near present day Simsboro, AR. The small city was founded by John Claybrook and at its peak had little more than 20 buildings and shops. The city’s major attractions was Claybrook Field.

The field featured a grandstand and regularly draw up to 2,000 spectators a game. The majority of fans who came to Claybrook Field on game day were likely from Memphis.
