Rape and attempt to murder charge against Youth Cong leader

MYSORE: City police have booked a case against a youth Congress leader under the provisions of IPC376 and provisions of Prevention Of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO), besides booking a case of attempting to murder for allegedly raping a minor girl and later trying to knock her father down who complained to police the incident.

According to police, father of minor girl complained to Nazarbad police on Saturday night against Youth Congress leader Suresh and his friend and alleged them of kidnapping his minor daughter to a secluded place and raping her.

Girl's father alleged that his daughter left the house on Saturday evening after a quarrel in the house. These two youths who noticed the girl's going out of the house picked up the girl and took her to a secluded place in the city to rape her. Father who came to know the incident approached Nazarbad police and registered a case.

These two youths Suresh and his friend Raju who came riding on a motorbike from Nadanahalli side towards Alanahalli on Sunday notice the girl's father who was walking on the road and try to hit him. In the melee the girl's father sustained injuries on his legs and hands. Police said however the girl's father is out of danger and they have launched the manhunt to nab the two culprits besides sending the girl for a medical check up.
