The Theory Of Everything Clip and Featurette Highlighting Stephen Hawking and Jane Wilde’s Remarkable Relationship

16 October 2014 10:32 AM, PDT | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

Focus Features just unveiled some brand new promotional material for The Theory of Everything, paving the way to the film’s limited release on November 7th.  The clip is a bit on the schmaltzy side, but Adam’s predicating that both Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones could score some Oscar nods, so I’m going to take his word for it and assume that both will do big things with the material in the full feature. In addition, we’ve also got a brand new featurette for the film in which Redmayne and Jones discuss Stephen Hawking and Jane Wilde’s loving relationship.  Hit the jump to check that out as well as the new The Theory of Everything clip.  The film also stars Charlie CoxEmily Watson and David Thewlis. Here’s the synopsis for The Theory of Everything: Starring Eddie Redmayne ("Les Misérables") and Felicity Jones ("The Amazing Spider-Man 2 »

New Clip From Stephen Hawking Biopic ‘The Theory Of Everything’

15 October 2014 12:30 PM, PDT | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

A new clip has been released from the Stephen Hawking biopic The Theory Of Everything.

Little was expected from Stephen Hawking, a bright but shiftless student of cosmology, given just two years to live following the diagnosis of a fatal illness at 21 years of age. He became galvanized, however, by the love of fellow Cambridge student, Jane Wilde, and he went on to be called the successor to Einstein, as well as a husband and father to their three children. Over the course of their marriage as Stephen’s body collapsed and his academic renown soared, fault lines were exposed that tested the lineaments of their relationship and dramatically altered the course of both their lives. Eddie Redmayne stars as Hawking, featuring alongside Felicity Jones, David Thewlis, Emily Watson, Charlie Cox, Simon McBurney, Maxine Peake and Harry Lloyd.

Netflix Teases First Looks, New Suit For Its Marvel ‘Daredevil’ Series

13 October 2014 10:45 AM, PDT | Tubefilter.com | See recent Tubefilter News news »

Black is the new red, at least for actor Charlie Cox. The star of Netflix’s upcoming Marvel series Daredevil will be donning an ensemble different than the superhero’s previous portrayals. Footage from the show was revealed exclusively to attendees at New York Comic Con on October 11, 2014 and included glimpses of Daredevil’s new garb. The look is inspired by the “Daredevil: Man Without Fear” comic series by Frank Miller and John Romita, Jr. While some reporters believe the costume change is Marvel’s attempt to stay as far away as possible from the 2003 flop of a film Daredevil, the black clothing could simply be a prototype as the character Matt Murdock begins his journey as the blind superhero. In addition to the dark attire, Nycc attendees were also treated to a shot of Cox as Murdock in a grey suit and rose-hued glasses, presumably as he goes »

First Look: Charlie Cox As Marvel’s 'Dardevil'; Rosario Dawson’s Role Will Have Overlap With Luke Cage

13 October 2014 8:44 AM, PDT | The Playlist | See recent The Playlist news »

Marvel’s “Daredevil” may be the man without fear, but some fans are already nervous. The upcoming “Daredevil” series, which will air exclusively on Netflix exclusively starting next May, revealed its first official photos this weekend at New York Comic Con. But, the photos don't show Daredevil (played by former “Boardwalk Empire” star Charlie Cox) in his regular costume. Instead, the anti-hero vigilante was more in a proto-Daredevil get-up, not unlike when Christian Bale’s Bruce Wayne hit Gotham at night in dark garb before he had created the Batsuit. As you might expect, it sent some fanboys on a freak out. But as usual, relax. The Netflix series will be a 13-episode arc and it’s possible you may not even see Daredevil in the classic costume until the series is over. For all we know, it’s an extended origin story (which would make sense as a »

Flickering Myth Reaction – Daredevil reveal at Nycc

The Flickering Myth staff react to the Daredevil reveal at the New York Comic Con…

Over the weekend at the New York Comi-Con, Marvel and Netflix held a panel for their upcoming Daredevil show and gave us our first look at Charlie Cox as The Man Without Fear. You can read a recap of the footage shown here.

But what did the Flickering Myth writing and editorial staff think of our first look for Daredevil?

Ben Rayner: …looks like the Deadpool: Pulp costume to me. Not sure if I like it or not. He must have been blind when he made it…

Luke Owen: Who would have thought that they’d go down The Trail of The Incredible Hulk route? I like this as a starting point. It fits their “dark and grittty” mood, even if it does raise questions about what mask they’ll do for Iron »

We’ve known for a while that Charlie Cox will play The Man Without Fear in Marvel’s upcoming Daredevil series on Netflix.

Now, we’ve got our first glimpse at what he’ll look like in costume – both as Matthew Murdock and as his superhero alter-ego Daredevil.

The images were released at New York Comic Con, but have flown around the web pretty sharpish for the rest of us to enjoy. Here’s our first look at Matthew Murdoch…

And here’s our first look at Daredevil (we’re told that the costume is inspired by the 1993 Man Without Fear! arc, and is the first iteration of the costume we’ll see in the show)…

First look at Charlie Cox as Daredevil

The first images have appeared online from Marvel’s forthcoming Daredevil TV show, featuring our first glimpse of Charlie Cox in the title role. The new images show Cox as both Matt Murdock and alter-ego Daredevil, with the former showing off his signature combo of sharp suit and rose-tinted specs. The image of Cox as Daredevil shows off the character’s new costume in all its glory, and it looks a far more sober affair than the big-screen version, eschewing red leather for a black, ninja-inspired aesthetic. “It’s been a real...

First Look At The Marvel / Netflix Daredevil

12 October 2014 5:58 PM, PDT | EmpireOnline | See recent EmpireOnline news »

This weekend saw the New York Comic-Con hit the Big Apple and Marvel was, naturally, there in force. There were peeks at upcoming projects aplenty, but few drew as much interest as the first official glimpse of Charlie Cox and co. in the company’s Daredevil series, set to hit Netflix next year. The imagery in this new take on the vigilante hero is clearly inspired by Frank Miller and John Romita Jr.’s Daredevil: Man Without Fear run, with a darker, less leathery costume (at least to begin with) and a chance to go to creepier places than the movie ever could. Cox, of course, is playing lawyer Matt Murdock, blinded as a young man in an accident that also heightened his other senses and gave him an echolocation-style way of “seeing” the world through sound. We already know that Deborah Ann Woll is playing Karen Page, with »

It’s been a little while since Marvel dropped some info about Daredevil, their first Netflix series, but this weekend’s New York Comic Con gave fans a little something to chew on. First up is some official concept art by Joe Quesada, which is a beautiful and moody piece.

The panel also revealed that Rosario Dawson will play Claire Temple, a nurse that help Daredevil and was an early love interest of Luke Cage in the comics and the way she is describe in the show makes her sound a little bit like a version of Night Nurse. It was also revealed that Bob Gunton will play Leland Owlsley aka the Owl, Vondie Curtis-Hall will be reporter Ben Urich, and Ayelet Zurer (the best part of Man of Steel) as Vanessa, a romantic interest of the Kingpin.

Marvel’s Daredevil Series Gains Four More Cast Members

12 October 2014 10:33 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Marvel may have missed out on showing off their upcoming Daredevil series at San Diego Comic-Con this past summer, but the studio made up for it in spades this weekend when they brought the Man Without Fear to Nycc. Not only did we finally get our first look at Charlie Cox in costume as the titular vigilante, but we now know who Rosario Dawson will be playing and also received information on four exciting new cast additions: Ayelet Zurer, Bob Gunto, Toby Moore and Vondie Curtis Hall.

Zurer, best known for her role in Angels & Demons and for playing Superman’s Kryptonian birth mother in last year’s Man of Steel, will play Vanessa Marianna, an art dealer who becomes the wife of notorious crime boss Wilson Fisk a.k.a. The Kingpin (played by Vincent D’Onofrio). According to Marvel, her “chance meeting with Wilson Fisk dramatically changes their lives. »

Daredevil Costume Revealed In Official Images And Concept Art

12 October 2014 10:33 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

As promised, Marvel brought Daredevil to Nycc on Saturday and did not leave fans disappointed. Not only did we get some awesome concept art designed by legendary comics artist and editor Joe Quesada (who drew Daredevil for Kevin Smith’s run in 1999), but we finally got an official synopsis and our very first look at Charlie Cox (Stardust) in costume as both Matt Murdock and his alter-ego, the titular Man Without Fear!

As you can see, the all-black costume is extremely basic and isn’t quite the red superhero outfit that we’re used to. In fact, its more reminiscent of the Frank Miller and John Romita Jr. outfit that we saw in Daredevil: Man Without Fear. That was an origin story and is one of the most beloved Daredevil titles, so it makes perfect sense that showrunner Steven S. DeKnight would borrow from it quite liberally.
