Racism is the belief that race determines
their traits or the belief that ones race is superior. Racism has been
around for a very long time and has even resulted in abuse, oppression,
and murder. Many races that are oppressed end up in poverty and is
clearly seen everywhere in the world were there is a minority group. (click here for more info) It is very hard to weed out racism if we sit around and do nothing, so that is why, starting now, we must do something.

Many people may question if there is any use in speaking out against racism. Some will say that people can not change. While that is true for some, most people change their points of view over the course of their life. Just look at Johnny Lee Clary. He is a former KKK member who changed his ways. It is even more important that we teach children about the harms of racism, because that is who the hate groups are recruiting. They are very clever in their methods too. (See their methods) Hate groups are recruiting so fast right now, that if we do not act, we may have an entire generation corrupted by racism.
The news of racism spreading may make you feel discouraged, but there is still hope. All we have to do is to take a stand. Teach your kids about the problems racism causes, get other parents involved, and speak out when someone or yourself is being victimized by racism. History has shown that whenever people take a stand against racism, racism in society drops. Now it is our turn to take a stand. So let's get out there and make a difference.
Just remember that racism is not beaten with hate. Just remember Reverend Wade Watts and how he stood up against racism. With friendship and not hate.
