RA and Diet soda?

Could someone tell me please if there is medical/scientific proof as to whether or not drinking diet soda increases the risk of developing RA and/or worsens RA?

Here is a news piece from late last year that discusses sugary drinks and RA that says that women who drink one or more sugar-sweetened sodas a day might raise their risk of getting rheumatoid arthritis but does not prove cause and effect. The link above has more information.

i HAD PAIN IN MY LEFT LEG, THEN SOMEONE TOLD ME IT MAY BE THE SIATIC NERVE. IN A FEW DAYS, I DUG ITO A YELLOW JACKET NEST AND THOSE BEES WILL CHASE YOU. I GOT STUNG ABOUT 10 TIMES, WELL AFTER THE PAIN OF THE BEE STINGS WENT AWAY, i HAD NO MORE PAIN FROM RA OR SIATIC NERVE. i AM
77 YRS OF AGE. i DONT LIKE GOING TO DOCTORS, MAYBE I SHOULD NOT BE WRITING ON HERE. i GUESS I AM A LITTLE SUICIDAL. HA HA. i BELIEVE IF YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM CAN FIGHT OFF SOME HEALTH PROBLEMS, YOU ARE BETTER OFF, BUT THAT IS JUST ME.
