Bruce Springsteen headlines Stand Up For Heroes event

Bruce Springsteen and a collection of all-star comedians will headline the eighth annual Stand Up for Heroes event at the Theater at Madison Square Garden on Nov. 5. Netflix users can now hide their viewing history

Sharing a Netflix account with a friend—or “borrowing” theirs—and looking for a way to avoid awkward discussions about that season of Gossip Girl you watched five times? Good news: The streaming service will now let you hide your viewing activity.
Netflix has introduced a new feature that allows subscribers to delete items from their viewing history. The tool should improve Netflix’s suggestions for viewers so that the occasional half-watched 1980s comedy or recent foreign documentary can no longer influence the films and television shows that Netflix promotes. Broadway’s most exhilarating rock concert burst onto the boards earlier this year when Neil Patrick Harris stepped into the silky fishnets of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, earning a Tony for the role and ushering the East German rocker into the hands of a new generation of fans. After Harris departed the show in August, The Book of Mormon veteran Andrew Rannells was tapped to fill Hedwig’s high heels. To say his turn is electric, heartbreaking, and wholly different from Harris’ would still be underselling the performance.

Angela Lansbury is taking her 'Blithe Spirit' on a North American tour

Angela Lansbury is taking her Tony-winning performance in Noël Coward’s Blithe Spirit on the road. The actress will be playing the medium Madame Arcati in a North American tour of the play, which will kick off in December at Los Angeles’ Ahmanson Theatre. The run will close in March at D.C.’s National Theatre, a place of historical significance for Lansbury, since it marked the site of the 1957 pre-Broadway tryout for her Broadway debut, Hotel Paradiso. Jimmy Fallon clearly loves doing musical impressions, so when he had Barbra Streisand making a rare appearance on The Tonight Show to promote an album of duets, he took the opportunity to be the legendary singer’s partner. Alongside a bemused Babs, Fallon trotted out his Elvis, his Blake Shelton, and his Michael Bublé. Jane Lynch to host an 'Uprising of Love' for the Lgbt community

Actress Jane Lynch will host Monday night’s Uprising of Love: A Benefit Concert for Global Equality, featuring performances by multiple-Grammy award winners Sting and Patti LuPone, to support the advancement of rights for the worldwide Lgbt community.
The concert, which takes place at New York City’s Gershwin Theatre, is written by Oscar winner Dustin Lance Black (Milk), directed by Schele Williams, musically directed by Alex Lacamoire, produced by Jayson Raitt, and executive-produced by Stephen Schwartz (Wicked) and Bruce Cohen (Silver Linings Playbooks).

One of the recent posters for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay—Part 1 made Katniss look a little bit like Batman, what with her sleek, black armor. Well, Hunger Games star Elizabeth Banks thought so too, and inspired the fansite QuarterQuell.org to take the comparison to the next level. The result? A series of posters for The Dark Katniss Rises, which find Katniss and Hunger Games imagery embedded in posters for Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight films. The results? Well, I’d watch this movie.

Tucked away in the trendy avenues of Manhattan’s Soho neighborhood is an emoji dreamscape (or maybe nightmare-scape) come to life.
In conjunction with designer Jeremy Scott, musician Miley Cyrus created several sculptures that were featured in Scott’s fashion show for spring/summer 2015, in a collection titled “Dirty Hippie.” According to an interview with V Magazine, Cyrus embarked on her day-glo pastime after experiencing fears of dying as a simple “pop pop dumb dumb.” Translation: Miley’s a visual artist now, y’all.
