The Buzz: The fabulously named Blake Rayne plays two brothers in this story based on the life of Elvis Presley and his brother who died in childbirth. The script goes into theoretical territory by looking at the lives of the two siblings as they diverge during the Great Depression and follow different musical paths. Distributor Freestyle Releasing has some money to spend from God's Not Dead's success earlier this year and they found a gap in the release calendar to push this one out wide with no other new wide releases.

Certificate PG-13   -   Drama | Romance

Metascore: 82/100 (19 reviews)
Forrest Gump, while not intelligent, has accidentally been present at many historic moments, but his true love, Jenny Curran, eludes him.

The Buzz: An IMAX re-release for this 20th anniversary is thoroughly warranted - especially if you're a parent with a child who has yet to see the movie, which made $300 million at the box office (a tally which no 2014 release to date has hit) and won 6 Oscars. However you view the film, its historical recreations should look cool on the big, big screen.

Metascore: 49/100 (7 reviews)
As Eve begins writing songs as a way to sort through some emotional problems, she meets James and Cassie, two musicians each at crossroads of their own.

The Buzz: Belle and Sebastian bandleader Stuart Murdoch wrote and directed this film, which has received a fair amount of acclaim from festival-goers. At the risk of resorting to music-writing cliches: it makes sense for Murdoch to turn to filmmaking since his songs are so often cinematic in terms of their words and meanings. Sure, this story sounds like it was cribbed from the Nick Hornby playbook, but at least we get Emily Browning in a starring role. Like the last few Belle and Sebastian records, I'm not going to rush to judge this movie after a first viewing.

  -   Comedy | Drama | Family

Kelly, a punk-rocker turned suburban mom, is nostalgic for a life she can no longer have and uncertain of a future she doesn't yet fit in. Seventeen-year-old Cal is frustrated at his lack of control over the hand he's been dealt. When the two strike up an unlikely friendship, it's the perfect spark needed to thrust them both back to life.

The Buzz: Juliette Lewis was born to play this role, and her natural appeal is the best hope for Jen McGowan's feature directorial debut.

Certificate PG-13 Drama | Western

A former Arizona sheriff's wife is killed while riding on their ranch property. It would appear a Mexican man illegally crossing into the US is at fault. As the former and the current sheriff search for answers, lives are changed forever.

Henson) is a devoted wife and mother of two, living an ideal suburban life in Atlanta when Colin (Idris Elba), a charming but dangerous escaped convict, shows up at her door claiming car trouble. The Buzz: Your standard Screen Gems thriller can either result in Beyonce's best movie or one of Neil LaBute's worst. Aside from the always-welcome presence of Idris Elba, the upshot here is having Sam Miller on board as director - he handled the entire second second of Elba's top-notch BBC show, Luther (2010).

Certificate R   -   Crime | Drama

Bob Saginowski finds himself at the center of a robbery gone awry and entwined in an investigation that digs deep into the neighborhood's past where friends, families, and foes all work together to make a living - no matter the cost.

The Buzz: With the winter release date and hush-hush approach to making the film, Twentieth Century Fox seems to be following the blueprint that turned Chronicle (2012) into a breakout hit. More news as it becomes available on this adaptation of James Dashner's novel.

The Buzz: Credit Antoine Fuqua for turning Olympus Has Fallen (2013) into a domestic smash and, in a rare case of other countries embracing rah-rah Americanism, a surprising worldwide success. And now the marketing campaign has more oomph for the already-exciting reunion of Training Day (2001)'s director and star.
