For Adrien Brody, History's Houdini Is a Dream Come True
29 August 2014 7:01 AM, PDT
Adrien Brody might have already won an Oscar at 29 for his work in The Pianist, but for the actor, playing the legendary magician Harry Houdini for History's latest miniseries was a real bucket list moment.
"He was a very heroic person to me as a boy," Brody tells TVGuide.com. Much like the magician he idolized, Brody grew up in New York City the child of a Hungarian-Jewish mother and took up magic at an early age, performing at children's birthday parties as The Amazing Adrien. 29 August 2014 6:24 AM, PDT
We don't expect a lot from Lifetime movies, but The Brittany Murphy Story takes low budget to a new level.
The best and worst TV wigs
We previously complained that the stars of the Saved by the Bell movie look nothing like the actual actors, but at least they looked like people. In these clips from the Clueless star's biopic (which has been turned in part into a murder mystery), it's clear that the only thing smaller than the casting budget was the wig budget. As Vulture pointed out, "There are Chihuahuas wearing better, more believable wigs." And that is not an exaggeration.

Top Moments: Jimmy Kimmel's Friendly Reunion and True Blood's Lifeless Finale
28 August 2014 6:00 PM, PDT
Our top moments of the week:
13. Best Response: In case you were living under a rock, or, you know, watching something else on TV Monday night, Gwen Stefani took a page from John Travolta's book and totally mispronounced Stephen Colbert's last name when she presented at the Emmys. Even though Colbert had already pre-taped his Tuesday show last week, the host still gets in a small jab at the much-discussed gaffe in the blink-and-you'll-miss-it opening credits, in which "Colbore" comes across the screen next to other descriptive words like "honorable," "star-spangled" and...
