Free member access to the ProQuest Psychology Journals and MEDLINE online literature databases is available as a benefit of APS membership. Combined, these databases provide members with access to thousands of international journals, covering the broad discipline of psychology, as well as the major clinical and healthcare disciplines. 

Members can elect to search across either or both databases and are encouraged to set up a ‘My Research’ account within ProQuest to experience some of the advanced functionality of the service, such as research and journal alerts, emailed table of contents, and saved search histories. These facilities enable psychologists to keep informed of the latest research published in their field and contribute to their continued professional development. In addition, there is an extensive online Help facility for guidance.

Australian Journal of Psychology

The Australian Journal of Psychology covers the entire spectrum of psychological research and receives articles on all topics within the broad scope of the discipline.

The journal publishes reports of experimental and service studies, including reports of qualitative investigations, on pure and applied topics in the field of psychology. It also publishes occasional reviews of specific topics, theoretical pieces and commentaries on methodological issues.

Occasionally, special issues devoted to a single topic, and guest edited by a specialist editor, are published.

The APS publishes the journal, which is issued four times a year.

Australian Psychologist

The Australian Psychologist is concerned with a wide spectrum of clinical and applied issues, spanning from directly clinical matters including therapy and assessment through to issues of the workplace and the wider society.

The journal includes sections on both theoretical interpretation of clinical and applied nature as well as contemporary literature reviews and essays on matters of general relevance to psychologists.

The APS publishes the journal, which is issued six times a year. Further information on the expansion of the Australian Psychologist in 2013 can be found in the February 2013 edition of InPsych.

Clinical Psychologist

The Clinical Psychologist publishes material of applied and professional interest to clinical psychologists. The APS publishes the journal, which is issued three times a year.

Australasian Journal of Organisational Psychology (AJOP)

Australasian Journal of Organisational Psychology (AJOP) is a half-yearly, professional journal of the APS College of Organisational Psychologists. It publishes and encourages material of professional interest for members of the College, other organisational practitioners and consultants.

Prior to 2014, this journal was called the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Organisational Psychology.

Australian Educational and Developmental Psychologist

The Australian Educational and Developmental Psychologist is a peer-reviewed journal of The Australian Psychological Society College of Educational and Developmental Psychologists. The journal publishes psychological research that makes a substantial contribution to the knowledge and practice of education and developmental psychology. The broad aims are to provide a vehicle for dissemination of research that is of national and international significance to the researchers, practitioners and students of educational and developmental psychology.

The Australian Community Psychologist

The Australian Community Psychologist publishes work that is of relevance to community psychology practitioners and researchers and others interested in the field. Local and national manuscripts may be published, and submissions by emerging researchers and practitioners are encouraged. The journal features contributions that are state of the art reviews of professional and applied areas, and reviews and essays on matters of general relevance to community psychologists, in addition to empirical research reports relevant to community psychologists. The journal also features individual manuscripts and collections of manuscripts addressing matters of general, professional and public relevance, techniques and approaches in psychological practice, professional development issues, professional and public policy issues, and reviews of books that relate directly to the major areas of practice in community psychology.
