Chibok Abduction: NANS Describes Jonathan As Incompetent
— Jul 24, 2014 | 17 CommentsThe leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, has described President Goodluck Jonathan as an incompetent leader, saying students of the Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State should have been released before now.
In a statement issued yesterday by the public relations officer of the association, Comrade Olaogun Victor, the student body lamented the further collapse of the education sector since the administration took over, saying apart from suffering from insecurity, Nigerian students have suffered the consequences of the president’s incompetence more than other Nigerians.
According to him, since the dreaded insurgent group, Boko Haram, commenced its wanton destruction of lives and properties, not less than 800 students have been killed especially in the orgies of murderous attacks on the Federal Polytechnic, Mubi, Adamawa State University, School of Hygiene, Kano and College of Agriculture, Damaturu in Yobe State, among several others.
He said, “We cannot but imagine the harrowing experiences of these innocent girls who may have been subjected to terrible experiences within the last 100 days in captivity.
There is hardly any nation where this could happen and the president will still have the temerity to stage political campaign and dance ‘alanta,’ as our own president did in Kano just few hours after the Nyanya bombing. It was a huge display of insensitivity and gross misconduct.
