3.0 out of 5 stars OK but there are better alternatives 29 July 2014
Format:Paperback
The Good - This book is quite comprehensive for the GS part of civil services. If you need an economics manual like Laxmikant, then this book will do for you probably.

The Bad - It is very dry and doesn't induce any interest in the subject whatsoever. The content of the book is mostly copy-pasted stuff and lacks coherent flow at many places. Earlier editions of the book had numerous typographical errors too.

Not so comprehensive understanding is there for general issues forget about particular... author had relied more on facts & figures rather giving brief understanding on all concepts... if you r newbie in economic studies well it would be better to have a brief understanding on all issues.
