Upcoming

2014 Product Calendar — The Census Bureau has posted anticipated release dates for each regular and recurring statistical product expected to be released in 2014. The products are listed in the Census Bureau's online product calendar, which will be updated as needed throughout the year.

Demographic

Distribution of Household Wealth in the U.S.: 2000 to 2011 — This report compares data between these two points in time on household net worth by quintile and various characteristics of the householder, such as age, race and Hispanic origin, and education. Each quintile represents one-fifth of households. Statistics for the report come from the Distribution of Household Net Worth and Debt in the U.S. tables packages (for 2000, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2009, 2010 and 2011), to be released on the same date. The release will also include tables on the median value of debt and the percent holding debt for households by various characteristics of the householder for 2000, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2009 and 2010. They complement similar tables for 2011 released last year. These national-level data come from the Survey of Income and Program Participation. (Tentatively scheduled for release Aug. 19.)

Recent Population Trends for U.S. Island Areas: 2000 to 2010 — A new report, examines for the first time demographic trends for American Samoa, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The report will provide information for each area on history, government and census geography. (Tentatively sscheduled for release in August.)

2012 Economic Census Industry Series: Additional Wholesale and Retail Trade Data — Included in a series of national-level data files on the wholesale and retail trade sectors of the U.S. economy and will include new data on transportation equipment wholesalers and electronics and appliance stores. The files provide data on the number of establishments, sales, payroll, number of employees, value of product line sales and other data items by industry. (Tentatively scheduled for release Aug. 19.)

2012 Economic Census Industry Series: Automobile and Light and Heavy Truck Manufacturing — Three more in a series of national-level data files on specific manufacturing industries to be released through February 2015. The files provide data on the number of establishments, value of industry shipments, payroll, number of employees, value of product shipments and other data items for these industries. (Tentatively scheduled for release in August.)

2012 Economic Census Industry Series — Continuing on a flow basis through February 2015, this series contains national-level statistics from the twice-a-decade economic census for specific industries on the number of employees and establishments, payroll and total revenues. It also includes detailed statistics on the product lines sold or services provided by businesses. Facts for Features

Unmarried and Single Americans Week (Sept. 15-21) — The third full week of September recognizes the nation's unmarried Americans with an array of statistics about this group from the Census Bureau's demographic and economic subject areas. (Scheduled for release in August.)

Training Opportunities

Census Bureau Offers Training Opportunities — Webinars are available to help the public access and use Census Bureau statistics. These free sessions, lasting about 60 to 90 minutes, show how to use census databases and mapping tools and to find demographic and economic statistics at a local or national level. They also provide quick links for answers to frequently asked questions about accessing statistics.

Profile America for July and August — Profile America segments include paved with good intentions in "Asphalt Roads" (July 29) and it's worth a shot in "Immunization Month" (Aug. 17).

Census PoP Quiz Mobile Application — This new mobile app from the Census Bureau challenges a user's knowledge of the 50 states and the District of Columbia. Census PoP Quiz will be available for download to Android and Apple products. (Tentatively scheduled for release in August.)

Find Your Ideal Place with the Census Bureau's dwellr App — A Census Bureau mobile app named "dwellr" can help people on the go access key demographic, socio-economic and housing statistics for thousands of places across the nation. Users can also learn more about where they are by a simple tap of the screen that reveals educational levels, housing values and total population drawn from the American Community Survey. Stay Connected to the Economy with Census Bureau Mobile App — Every week, the Department of Commerce releases key Census Bureau economic indicators. Get the latest business news on-the-go as it is released through the Census Bureau's free, easy-to-use mobile app, America's Economy, available for download for both Apple and Android phones and tablets. The app provides real-time updates for 20 key economic indicators from the Census Bureau, Bureau of Labor Statistics and Bureau of Economic Analysis. 2014 Interactive HIV/AIDS Database Updates — July 21 — This annual update of the interactive global resource on the prevalence of HIV infection and AIDS cases and deaths coincides with the 20th International AIDS Conference in Melbourne, Australia. The database is maintained by the Census Bureau with funding from the U.S. President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief through the U.S. Agency for International Development.
