It sounds like he'll support the measure and thinks Claire is ready for leadership.

During a training session Michael has Alex "listen" to his subconscious. He connects with Bigsby who tells him "don't let them hurt anyone else." Alex returns to consciousness and tells Alex he saw "who I'm fighting for."

At their next rendezvous Riesen spots a new purchase and Clementine has to admit she went to the market. She says nobody saw her. She wants someone to take care of her and suggests Claire. Riesen says no. She feels like she has nowhere to go.

Whele tells Becca he knows about the orgies with Michael. He tells her if she doesn't want the information made public she'll do as he asks.

After a class William is approached by one of the men from his secret organization. He accuses him of heresy. William tells him this is part of his loyalty to Gabriel and tells the guy to get lost. He leaves and Claire approaches William. She tells him that people are attempting to use her father's health to push him out of leadership. Whele comes home as William is attempting to burn something. He stashes it in a drawer. Whele thinks William is there looking for advice about his wedding night. William thinks pushing Riesen out might not be necessary since he and Claire will soon be in charge. Whele thinks Claire is using him and tells his son "you're nothing without me." William tells him he's the man he is because of his father.

Michael is aware that Riesen had a relationship with the angel who killed the merchant. Riesen said he once loved her. Michael offers to capture her quietly, but Riesen responds that he needs her "taken down."

Norma tells Alex she knows he's not telling her something. He responds that she's done the same in the past. She tells him that Whele found out about a relationship they'd have and she promised to end it so he wouldn't kick Alex out of the corps. A call comes over the radio that a nearby body needs checking out. Alex and Norma find the body in the car. It's another victim of the angel.

Becca tells the women who had been participating in the orgies with Michael they will not be seeing the archangel anymore. They need to leave the city and never tell anyone what happened with Michael.

Whele and William arrive for the engagement party. We see that Claire is up in Whele's residence with a solider. She tells him she's looking for William's speech. She finds the piece of fabric William had stashed there earlier. Claire returns to the party and tells his father "everything is going to be okay." Claire takes Whele aside and tells him she has evidence he is working for Gabriel. He responds it doesn't belong to him and thinks she's trying to frame him. She tells him the people worship her and will believe anything she says. She will go to the public if he doesn't leave her father alone.
