Kansas State Archives - Ancestry.com Partnership


 

Ancestry.comThe Kansas Historical Society is partnering with Ancestry.com to make records with genealogical information available via the Internet.  Ancestry.com digitized a variety of paper and microfilm records from the State Archives.  Access to these records is free to Kansans who verify their residence via driver’s license or state ID card information. 

Since we are not saving any of the data you provide to receive free access to the Kansas records page on Ancestry, you will need to register each time you want to do a search. In the future, we hope that we can provide more convenient access after you register initially.

Vital Records Abstracts

World War I, Kansas Veterans, Manuscript Collection no. 49  Letters, military documents, photographs, and other documents providing information on Kansas soldiers in World War I, primarily members of the 35th and 89th Divisions. Items solicited from each veteran or his family included letters, especially from overseas; a photograph; and a brief biography containing date and place of birth, residence, parents' names, occupation, and names of spouse and children. The amount of information in each file varies greatly.
