I am a user of Western digital USB disks from the last 6 years. I have purchased 4 disks in last 6 years at different times and have not faced any problems till now. I trust WD. Coming to the "Elements vs Passport", the major difference being is that the Passport version is that it is more latest, has some software on it [which you might not use] and latest firmware, Look wise both are of same quality, dimensions. I have 1 TB passport version and 2 TB elements version now. So, after doing lot of research, I settled for Elements and to the product on Amazon site, because, it offered the best price in the market. I ordered it and got it in two days. Overall very satisfied with the product, amazon and the seller.

HD is working fine and I see speeds of 7- 40MB/s with USB2.0 ports while writing/reading depending on the files being transferred. Hope the hard-disk lasts long.

Coming to delivery, I had ordered this WD HD assuming what is displayed will be delivered to me. But I received a different product i.e. Elements HD which is displayed in the WD website. I saw similar complaint even with D-LINK DSL-2750U MIMO wifi routers which sport bigger antennae in amazon website but are actually smaller 2dBi antennae. I request consumers to be extra careful while buying the products online.

The back of the drive contains one USB 3.0 port and an LED activity light. The USB port is actually a Micro-USB connection on the drive.

The 2TB drive's chassis is well-built and nice to handle, with a dotted top section that provides a little grip. Weighing in at 230g and standing 22mm tall, the My Passport 2TB feels reassuringly solid.

There's no operational reason to bundle any software with the My Passport; it's very much plug-and-play on modern Windows and Mac operating systems.

Casing could be better

2TB in just the size of your hand. That is how I can describe this portable HDD. I was expecting a bigger size hard disk but this one somehow seems smaller. With one USB port and a white LED to indicate the functioning of HDD, it looks and feels sturdy.

One month has not passed and I am facing with hard disk problems (bad blocks).
Now partition table is corrupted and I'm recovering my 600GB data from 2 days.
I hope at least warranty service is going to satisfy my expectations.
