Businesses, corporations, and organizations make a difference every day in the lives of Kansas students, citizens, and visitors. Their generous support of Kansas history provides programs would not otherwise be possible. Discover the stories of these generous corporations.

Dane G. Hansen Foundation

Dane Hansen Grant tour from PhillipsburgThe Dane G. Hansen Foundation of Logan generously provided field trip subsidies to schools from northwest Kansas in observance of the Kansas sesquicentennial in 2011. These subsidies covered the costs involved in bring the students to the Kansas Museum of History's special exhibit, 150 Things I Love About Kansas.

Johnson County Heritage Trust Fund

The Johnson County Heritage Trust Fund generously provided grants that included field trip subsidies to schools. These subsidies covered the cost to visit Shawnee Indian Mission State Historic Site in Fairway.

W.S. & E.C. Jones Trust

The W.S. & E.C. Jones Trust generously provided grants for school field trip subsidies. These subsidies covered the cost to visit Red Rocks State Historic Site in Emporia.

Westar Energy

When Westar Energy in Topeka heard that the Kansas Historical Society needed a maintenance vehicle, the company graciously offered to donate one of the trucks being sold at auction. Westar’s donation of the Chevrolet Silverado being retired from its fleet saves the Historical Society vital funds.

R. E. French Family Foundation

An improvement grant of nearly $12,000 from the R. E. French Family Educational Foundation of Gridley will benefit schoolchildren and visitors to the Kansas Museum of History and the State Archives for years to come. The grant made it possible for the Historical Society to purchase digital camera equipment, projectors, interactive white boards with slates, and a touch screen. The purchase of this equipment would have been impossible without the educational grant.

Capitol Federal Foundation

The Kansas Museum of History's 150 Things I Love About Kansas special exhibit in 2011 was made possible with support from several Kansas businesses and organizations. The Capitol Federal Foundation generously donated $17,500 for creation of the exhibit that commemorated the Kansas sesquicentennial. This bright and lively exhibit showcased items from Kansas history rarely seen by the public.
