Such quick-charging is possible only if you have this special adapter meant for accelerated charging. Thus if you heavily use Kindle Fire or Kindle Fire HD and if you need repeated quick-charging, this is the device for you and there is at present not alternative to it.

Remember, both of the above devices give you comfortable use for an average of 10 to 12 hours on a single charge. Thus if your maximum usage is restricted to an hour or two a day, you can easily recharge them by connecting with a computer or via the normal charger.

Yes, you need this adaptor. It should be bundled with Kindle. May be to keep the cost down Amazon pares it down but with USB charging it takes ages for the Kindle to be of real use. The adaptor does its job fine and Amazon delivered it on the dot. Rs. 1200 add to Kindle's price.

It is a very good accessory. Wish it came as part of the Kindle Fire HD and was more reasonably priced.

i would recommend this product as part of a combo buy with kindle fire.delivery was prompt. a recommended purchase as the kindle discharges fast and the slow charger takes a lot of time.

It charges my Kindle Fire HD 8.9 three times faster than connecting to PC, under 5 hours. Smaller Kindles would charge even faster. The only thing Amazon can do is make it free at least with Kindle Fire HD 8.9.
