Everett F. 'Pete' Hurley

Mims, FL

In Loving Memory of

Everett Franklin

'Pete' Hurley

On Saturday, June 28, 2014, while in his sleep, Everett Franklin 'Pete' Hurley peacefully left us to be with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, all the while, finally returning back into the loving arms of his precious wife, Linda.

All who knew Pete found that beneath his rough exterior and calloused hands, from many years of hard work, therein was a soft and gentle heart which, accompanied by his enduring smile, made him the kind of man that people easily migrated towardand loved.

Born and raised in Biscoe, NC, Pete and his family moved from NC to FL in 1981. Pete's charming 'Carolina drawl', and his ability to fix anything, had many calling for his help, of which Pete NEVER turned anyone away as he was always wanting to help everyone all that he could. The common saying was, "don't throw it away until Pete looks at it. If Pete can't fix it, then it can't be fixed at ALL."

Pete was the consummate follower of NASCAR, the 'Number One' Dale Earnhardt fan (just ask ANYONE), and a member of Temple Baptist Church. In the way Pete could paint a story, one could sit and listen for hours to Pete reminisce of 'days gone past', things he'd seen and done, and things that he dreamed yet to do.

Pete was a good father and loving husband, a loyal and trustworthy friend, and one who possessed the rare attribute of a heart of gold.

Pete is survived by his daughter and son, Carol and Frank, Jr., his beloved sister, Lucille Lambert, and so many friends and acquaintances that knew and loved him.

The void in our hearts and lives that Pete leaves behind will never be filled by another, but we are assured by Jesus Christ that we will see him again in God's Promised Land.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 2nd at North Brevard Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. Please sign Pete's guestbook at www.northbrevardfuneralhome.com.
