I was having problems with the LAN connection on my motherboard so a friend gave me a spare LAN card. This card had a bit of a mismatch in the bracket and caused the network to be a bit iffy at times. I decided to buy this wireless LAN adaptor. I had two reasons I wanted it. One was as a backup for the wired LAN which was unreliable. Secondly, I want to reduce the mess of wires near my computer when I get the time. I simply plugged this into my USB port, put in the CD that came with it, and within minutes I was up and running. All that was left to do was to configure the WiFi password. This simply can't be beaten for simplicity and ease of use. To be honest, I have not had the opportunity to test the device over a long distance. In my setup, the router is only a couple of feet away. If I do test it at a longer distance, I will see if I can add to this review. Meanwhile, you will have to look for other reviews that write about range testing. If you just need a WiFi adaptor for short range and you don't want to pay for a big brand, you should go get this one.

This product is not that good. In fact using this I cannot have connection between my living room and bedroom, although the same connection is availed without any issue using my laptop.

RANGE IS VERY POOR. NO COMMUNICATION BETWEEN FIRST FLOR TO GROUND FLOR OF THE HOUSE. DID NOT SERVE MY PURPOSE.

I installed the device in my desktop and it worked fine and fulfilled my rrequirement to make my desktop wifi. I am able to use skype and all other applications.
