Ambassadors

BirdSleuth Ambassadors are passionate educators who share BirdSleuth with their colleagues.

As a BirdSleuth Ambassador, we ask that you consider these options for getting involved:

1. Offer a Professional Development Workshop

Help teachers discover the amazing world of birds, citizen science, and outdoor investigations! Offer a workshop at your school, within your district, or at a conference. To fulfill this role, you should be  familiar with BirdSleuth and citizen science. Preferably, you should have  used BirdSleuth materials with young people, so you can share your experience! We will provide you with the tools you’ll need to offer a professional development workshop in your area!

2. Present BirdSleuth at a Local, Regional, or State Conference

Planning to go to a conference for science teachers or environmental educators? Consider sharing BirdSleuth at your booth or in a presentation! To fulfill this role, you should be familiar with BirdSleuth and the educational resources offered by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology.

3. Hand Out Materials to Your Colleagues

If you think BirdSleuth is great, and want to share it with your colleague, or if you are a professor who mentors pre-service teachers…consider spreading the word about BirdSleuth!

However you’d like to get involved, BirdSleuth supports you by:
  • Providing a customizable PowerPoint show for presentations
  • Handling workshop advertisement and registration if desired
  • Giving you resources to distribute, such as brochures and handouts
  • Offering advice on workshop topics or staffing a successful booth
  • Advising you on possible funding sources
