Here Are Two Super-Dirty, Red-Band Trailers for Zac Efron and Seth Rogen's 'Neighbors'

8 April 2014 12:00 PM, PDT | Movies.com | See recent Movies.com news »

Taking bro-dude humor to the extreme, Seth Rogen and company have decided to forgo any subtleties and take audiences directly to the frat house with Neighbors. The comedian plays one half of a married couple (Rose Byrne stars as his partner) who take up residence in Dullsville, Suburbia where sex on an Ethan Allen dining room chair (natch) is about as exciting as things get. It gets creepy when their newborn baby watches, though. A frat house moves next door, and the family’s boring little life is hilariously disrupted. The casting of the formerly innocent Zac Efron as the sadistic frat president is genius. Get Him to the Greek and Yes Man director Nicholas Stoller has cast an assortment of other familiar faces sure to please. Two red-band trailers have popped up...

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Recap: Asgardians of the Galaxy

12 March 2014 6:36 AM, PDT | Vulture | See recent Vulture news »

This is our second Thor-themed episode to date — but while the appearance of guest star Jaimie Alexander as Lady Sif made "Yes Men" a better continuation of the Thor movies, it also made it a slightly weaker Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episode. Sif is a fun character on the big screen, and it's always nice when Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. feels like it coheres with Marvel's larger cinematic universe. But it also means we spent a lot of time on an extended cameo from a character we're not likely to see again. That comes at the expense of some of the show's more underdeveloped characters, like Fitz, whose only significant scene in "Yes Men" comes when Coulson punches him in the face."Yes Man" picks up where last week's teaser left off, as Lorelei hypnotizes a newlywed into abandoning his wife and driving off with her instead. But Lorelei quickly upgrades »

10 shockingly low Hollywood salaries, from Jonah Hill to Lindsay Lohan

6 March 2014 5:24 AM, PST | Digital Spy | See recent Digital Spy - Movie News news »

It's currently being reported that Barkhad Abdi earned just $65,000 (£38,880) for his BAFTA-winning role in the $55 million-budgeted Captain Philips.

The 28-year-old Somalian-born actor made his debut alongside Tom Hanks in the Oscar-nominated drama, and according to The New Yorker was reduced to living off per diems from studio Sony Pictures at the Beverly Hills Hotel while promoting the film.

Meanwhile it's estimated that Hanks made a staggering $50 million from his lead part in the Paul Greengrass film.

We find other surprisingly low movie salaries - from low-budgeted films to blockbusters, accepted by up-and-coming newbies to certified stars - below:

1. Jonah Hill - Wolf of Wall Street (2013)

Jonah Hill recently disclosed that he earned $60,000 (£36,200) for his role in Martin Scorsese's The Wolf of Wall Street, for which he was Oscar nominated.

The 30-year-old actor said on The Howard Stern Show that he was paid the five-figure sum "before commissions and taxes »

‘The D-Train’ Might Be the Dawn of a New Jack Black

12 February 2014 1:00 PM, PST | FilmSchoolRejects.com | See recent FilmSchoolRejects news »

It’s been a long time since we’ve heard or seen anything from Jack Black. Considering that he’s famous mostly for scat singing (loudly scat singing, I might add) and exposing his very ample stomach, that’s no small feat. But ever since the twin flops of Year One and Gulliver‘s Travels – flops that occurred four and five years ago, respectively — there hasn’t been much mainstream Black for public consumption. That might change, however, with The D-Train. The Hollywood Reporter has Black set to star in the upcoming comedy, where he would play a lonely doofus still longing for the acceptance of his high school peers  who also happens to be the chairman of his twenty-year high school reunion. The film will find Black’s character traveling from Middle America to Hollywood to convince the most popular kid in school, who’s now a washed-up commercial actor, to »

ABC and Marvel Studios appear to be upping their game with Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as the show enters the back-nine episodes of its first season; last week's episode saw Stan Lee cameoing and J. August Richards' Mike Peterson transforming into the cyborg Deathlok, while we've also got a guest appearance from Jaimie Alexander's Lady Sif to look forward to on March 11th, and we've got our first look at the Thor and Thor: The Dark World star as she'll appear in the upcoming episode 'Yes Man' courtesy of TV Guide...

"We always have our radar up for ways to tie our series into the Marvel films and bringing in an Asgardian really cements that connection," states co-showrunner Jed Whedon. James Marsden and Jack Black Join The D-train

11 February 2014 1:30 PM, PST | GeekTyrant | See recent GeekTyrant news »

Via: THR

James Marsden and Jack Black are teaming up for a new comedy called The D-Train. It's always good to see Marsden getting cast in movies, as the guy is awesome. Black, on the other hand, I could do without, but maybe he and Marsden will make a good team.

The story centers on "a Middle American high school reunion committee chairman (Black), still searching for high school acceptance, who has to do whatever it takes to get the most popular guy from high school -- now a failed actor working in commercials (Marsden) -- to show up to their 20-year reunion, including flying to Los Angeles to penetrate the world of celebrities."

This sounds like it could be a fun movie. I could see some comedy coming out of these types of characters and the reunion setting. The film will be the directorial debut of Jarrad Paul and Andrew Mogel, »

Jack Black & Mike White Reunite on 'The D-Train' with James Marsden

11 February 2014 9:19 AM, PST | firstshowing.net | See recent FirstShowing.net news »

Back in 2003, writer Mike White and star Jack Black teamed up for the spectacular family comedy School of Rock. And while news a few years ago indicated a potential sequel probably wouldn't happen, there was at least an awesome 10th anniversary reunion concert with the cast last year. Now White and Black are getting back together again for a new indie comedy called The D-Train. White is producing the film through his RipCord Productions and Black through his Electric Dynamite banner with the film set to shoot in New Orleans this month with Yes Man writing duo Jarrad Paul & Andrew Mogel set to direct. THR says the film follows a high school reunion committee chairman in Middle America, who has to do whatever it takes to get the most popular guy from high school (James Marsden) to show up to their 20-year reunion. But the problem is that guy is »

Jack Black And Mike White Board The D-Train With James Marsden

11 February 2014 8:42 AM, PST | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Jack Black and Mike White’s names go so well together that you would think they’d appear in more projects as a team than they already do. Having played buddies in School of Rock, the pair are finally getting the band back together for another comedy. This time they are boarding The D-Train, an upcoming high school reunion comedy co-starring James Marsden.

The D-Train will feature Jack Black as a high school reunion chairman tasked with locating his class’s most popular student (Marsden), now a washed up actor living in Los Angeles. White will appear as the less-than-popular Black’s best friend from high school, presumably there to assist his pal in convincing Marsden to show up at the reunion.

While the plot sounds something like every other high school reunion comedy ever made (high school losers try to make good, popular guy not as great as they thought he was, »

Jack Black & James Marsden Board ‘The D-Train’

10 February 2014 10:18 PM, PST | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

Jack Black is set to reunite with School Of Rock and Nacho Libre writer, Mike White. The two will be joined by X-men’s James Marsden for The D-train. The film will see Jack Black as the head of a school reunion committee who will stop at absolutely nothing to make sure his classes’ most popular student attends. That student will be played by Marsden, who has become a star of TV commercials. Nat Faxon and White will also star, presumably as two other ex students.

Directing the feature will be Jarred Paul and Andrew Mogel, the screenwriters of Yes Man. This will be their directorial debut. School Of Rock is still one of my favourite comedies after surprising me all those years ago, but that was helmed by Richard Linklater, a man with much more experience. Hopefully Paul and Mogel have been chosen well as the plot seems to write itself, »
