The Buzz: So, it turns out that for all of Charming Tatum's talent and musculature, his career stabilizer will be the sequel to an unexpected hit (The Lego Movie doesn't count - voice roles never do). And not to compare them directly, but it's cool to live in a moment where Jonah Hill is the bigger movie star. More than anything, we're curious as to how you come close to matching the surprise factor and luring an audience for a second go-round, even with all the key players back in place.

The Buzz: There's a surprising lack of family entertainment this summer, so look for Hiccup and Toothless to rule the skies until Planes: Fire and Rescue arrives later next month. Where are the other family movies this summer?
Hellion (2014) - [Limited]- Drama | Thriller
When motocross and heavy metal obsessed thirteen-year-old Jacob's increasing delinquent behavior forces CPS to place his little brother, Wes, with his aunt, Jacob and his emotionally absent father, Hollis, must finally take responsibility for their actions and for each other in order to bring Wes home.

The Buzz: Themes of wayward youth and damaged men tend to play well with festival audiences, so it's no surprise that director Kat Candler's drama, which took shape as a short film nurtured by the Sundance Film Festival, played well there this past January. And we all want Aaron Paul to thrive in the indie-film world, right? We imagine he'll take the Jennifer Lawrence/James Franco approach of balancing major-studio work with smaller projects like this one.
The Rover (2014) - [Limited]- Crime | Drama
10 years after a global economic collapse, a hardened, ruthless ex-soldier tracks down the men who stole his only possession. As he travels through the lawless Australian outback, he takes a damaged young man as his unwitting accomplice.
Director:David Michôd |

The Buzz: "10 years after a global economic collapse," ... so David Michod's follow-up to the excellent Animal Kingdom is set in the very, very near future. If that's too upsetting to ponder, focus on the cool fact that Kingdom star Joel Edgerton co-wrote this screenplay with Michod, and people who spent obsessive amounts of time hating on Edward Cullen might find a way to love Edward Pattinson. And not that Oscars are everything, but can Guy Pearce finally get a nomination?
The Signal (2014) - [Limited]- Sci-Fi | Thriller
On a road trip, Nic and two friends are drawn to an isolated area by a computer genius. When everything suddenly goes dark, Nic regains consciousness - only to find himself in a waking nightmare.
Director:William Eubank |

The Buzz: From the sound of things, what William Eubank's sci-fi oddity makes up for any lacking narrative form with heaps of style and mood, a refreshing break from the half-baked intellectualism that hamstrung Transcendence and alienated genre fans. At the very least we root for this movie to achieve cult status on par with last year's Europa Report.
