Kevin Spacey Joins Jimmy Fallon's Barber Shop Group (Video)

2 May 2014 11:21 PM, PDT | The Hollywood Reporter | See recent The Hollywood Reporter news »

Kevin Spacey joined up with Jimmy Fallon and the Ragtime Gals on Friday's Tonight Show. Their song of choice to clean up? Jason Derulo's "Talk Dirty." Spacey acquitted himself wonderfully. But more importantly, later in the episode he showed off his impersonation of Bill Clinton telling him how much he likes House of Cards. (We'll post that when it becomes available online.)

Even Jack Bauer Might Have Had Problems Crashing the Launch Party for ’24′

2 May 2014 9:38 PM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

The following takes place between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Holding a launch party and screening for Fox’s “24: Live Another Day” at the site of the U.S.S. Intrepid on New York’s West Side seems utterly apropos. The show, after all, sends its viewers hurtling into the military-industrial complex with its tension-filled tales of Jack Bauer trying to stop rogue figures from usurping the U.S. government, But, boy, is the famous ship hard to crack.

An attendee of the party would have to hoof it over to the boat — now the site of a museum — from Midtown, get past security, check in with the appropriate Fox personnel, get a star stamped on one’s hand, show that star to more security, get to the second floor, find the auditorium where the first episode of the series was being shown, find a seat (this attendee missed »

Should Norm MacDonald Replace Craig Ferguson?

2 May 2014 5:55 PM, PDT | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

In a new feature at Vulture, David Spade interviewed his old friend Norm MacDonald, and they bandied urgent issues like the demise of "Joe Dirt 2." (This actually upset me.) They also discussed Craig Ferguson's departure from "The Late Late Show" and how they both, at one point, turned down major talk show hosting gigs. Then Spade asked the hard question: Would you consider hosting The Late Late Show, the one that Craig Ferguson just stepped down from? That’s a good question. I don’t know. I think a talk show is tough. I don’t know if I could get it as a white, male host. I think I’m just too much of the same shit, you know? Chelsea [Handler] has a better chance. No, I think you have the quickest wit I’ve ever met, so I think you’d be just fine. Just as fine as Letterman. »

Fox confirms Naya Rivera has not been fired from 'Glee'

37 minutes ago | EW - Inside TV | See recent EW.com - Inside TV news »

Once again, Gleeks can rest easy — Naya Rivera has not been fired from Glee.

Amid rumors that the actress was feuding with co-star Lea Michele and had subsequently been dumped from the show, Rivera’s camp told EW on Tuesday that “any reports or rumors circulating that Naya Rivera was let go or fired from Glee are absolutely untrue. End of story.”

Now Fox is clearing the air: “She remains under contract to Glee,” the network said in a statement.

Still, fans might see less of Rivera’s Santana Lopez, at least in one big episode: The character has reportedly »

White House Correspondents' Dinner: The best -- and worst -- moments from Joel McHale and President Obama (with bonus Julia Louis-Dreyfus) -- Video

1 hour ago | EW.com - PopWatch | See recent EW.com - PopWatch news »

Who would have thought President Obama would receive more laughs than Joel McHale at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday night? The Community star’s jokes were mostly met with groans from the journalists, dignitaries, and showbiz types who filled the Washington Hilton Ballroom for the 100th annual gala.

“I host a show called The Soup which is on the E! network,” McHale said, introducing himself. “To Republicans in attendance, E! is the channel that your deeply closeted gay son likes to watch. Democrats, it’s the same channel that your happy, openly gay son likes to watch. It »

'Saturday Night Live' recap: It's Andrew Garfield's night, but Emma Stone steals the show

1 hour ago | EW.com - PopWatch | See recent EW.com - PopWatch news »

That headline isn’t meant to be a knock on Andrew Garfield, who was nimble and vibrant as Peter Parker (post-spider bite, of course) in his SNL hosting debut. His face sported a gigantic, adorable grin for about 75 percent of last night’s 90-minute show; he easily and smoothly transitioned between British and American accents, even multiple times in the same sketch; he showed a real knack for flustered buffoonery, almost saving an iffy wedding toast sketch by sheer force of personality alone. (Key word there: almost.)

Garfield was good enough that it’s puzzling the show didn’t give him more to do. »

2 hours ago | EW.com - PopWatch | See recent EW.com - PopWatch news »

April showers bring May finales! Ok, so that’s not exactly how the saying goes, but it is true. May is a month full of memorable goodbyes, and for this week, that includes The Tomorrow People, The Mindy Project, and Revenge. However, with Neighbors and Chef in theaters, there will be very little time for mourning.

Here’s how your week is looking:

Sunday 5/4

Resurrection, 9 p.m., ABC

The season 1 finale is about what happens when too many of the deceased return to Arcadia — and more importantly, what happens to Bellamy when he asks for outside help.

Monday 5/5

SNL: Andrew Garfield Riffs On Spider-Man And Justin Timberlake

3 hours ago | Deadline TV | See recent Deadline TV news »

Saturday Night Live‘s writers returned to familiar turf for last night’s routines featuring guest host Andrew Garfield. His co-star in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Emma Stone, joined for an opportunity to goof on the movie without parodying it. There was an extended one-joke filmed routine involving singer Beyonce. The monologue had Stone make a faux surprise cameo. And no SNL would be complete without a game show that gives the ensemble opportunities to impersonate pop culture icons, in this case with Garfield mimicking Justin Timberlake.  Here you go: »

Obama Rips Cable News & Joel McHale Bombs At White House Correspondents’ Dinner

12 hours ago | Deadline TV | See recent Deadline TV news »

5th Update – Final: (See McHale and Obama videos here and here) If last year’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner with headliner Conan O’Brien was white bread bland, tonight’s event was just painful. In way way over his head, Joel McHale stumbled and sputtered through a routine that got more moans and groans from the packed Washington Hilton ballroom than laughs. With failed one-liners about runaway production, Robert De Niro’s career choices, Jessica Simpson’s historical knowledge, the Kardashians’ sex lives, George Clooney’s political affiliations, Bill Clinton’s qualifications as a grandfather and a slew of other poorly conceived and badly executed jokes, the Community star left the stage after 30-minutes to weak applause from the 2,600 guests. At least he made  President Obama’s speech and his now standard swipes at cable news look good in comparison. Obama’s sharpest line of the night came courtesy of »

[Spoiler Alert: Read on only if you have already watched Saturday’s episode of Orphan Black.]

The chase is on! Tonight’s episode of Orphan Black featured a reunited Sarah, Kira, and Felix on the run. And that run led to a cabin in the woods occupied by none other than…Kira’s father! Turns out he’s an old flame named Cal that Sarah scammed back in her grifter days. Meanwhile, Cosima pored over the video diaries of another clone named Jennifer Fitzsimmons who seemed to be suffering from the same respiratory illness that she is. In the serious bummer department, it turns out Jennifer just died from it three days prior. (Gulp!) And in the serious cliffhanger department, »

‘Downton Abbey’ Cast and Producers Discuss Secrets, Love Affairs, Season 5

15 hours ago | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

Among the revelations about “Downton Abbey,” producer Gareth Naeme shared that a Hollywood exec “who shall remain very nameless,” predicted that the show would not find any takers in the U.S. when he was shopping it.

“It’s mind-boggling to me that now we have 16 million viewers in China,” chimed in cast member Joanne Froggatt (who plays the maid Anna) at a panel discussion Saturday on the Paramount lot hosted by the TV Academy.

Among their fans you can count Julia Roberts, who hugged showrunner Julian Fellowes at a party (“it’s the highlight of my life so far,” he joked); Mick Jagger, who told Laura Carmichael he loves the show, per Robert James-Collier (under-butler Thomas Barrow); and Jon Hamm, who thrilled Phyllis Logan (housekeeper Mrs. Hughes) by giving her a kiss.

Among the common folk, Fellowes related how a woman followed him at a Barnes and Noble and begged, »
