The women of “The Other Woman” are headed for a clear U.S. box office victory with early estimates pointing to a weekend topping $20 million.

Fox’s female-skewing comedy is on track for an $8 million Friday — somewhat above recent forecasts that suggested an opening weekend in the $17 million to $19 million range. “The Other Woman” opened last week in Australia with $4.2 million and expands to 28 other markets this weekend. The foreign take so far is $9.1 million.

The film, starring Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann and Kate Upton, appeared to be succeeding with audiences despite less-than-enthusiastic reviews with a 24% “fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

The revenge comedy will easily break Disney-Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier’s” three-week winning streak. Most recently, 2012′s “Hunger Games” and 2008′s “The Dark Knight” came out on top during four consecutive weekends.

The “Captain America” sequel looks likely to finish the frame in the $12 million to »
