Those Foreigners Are On Fire: 10 Amazing Norwegian Horror Films

There’s no need to make an implication that American filmmakers are failures. That’s not true. Wes Craven, John Carpenter, James Wan, Darren Lynn Bousman, Ti West, and Adam Green are just a few of today’s genre specific visionaries, and they’re delivering the goods.

Perhaps these guys just work with their own vision, refusing to allow any studio to impose. Or, perhaps, these guys around the world, who don’t necessarily leap into horror binges, are capable of manufacturing entirely new ideas.

I’m not certain of the recipe, but I know it works. It works especially well with Norwegian filmmakers, who constantly release pics so far superior to »

Do you ever laugh out loud when watching "Hannibal"? As seasoned horror fans, no doubt many of us do. And someone else who does is series creator Bryan Fuller, who was recently interviewed for the web series "Post Mortem with Scott Thompson."

Along with getting Fuller to explain what lured him to the project, Thompson, who plays crime scene investigator Jimmy Price on the show, also got a few teases of what's still to come in the second season.

Check out the interview below via TV Guide; here are some highlights:

"I was just intrigued with a gentleman cannibal," Fuller says. "There was so much fun to what he does as somebody who eats the rude — there was inherent comedy to be had. I see this as a very, very, very dark comedy."

Fuller explains that although his show deals with serial killers, he doesn't think "Hannibal" plays by the »

Marilyn Manson to Sing Songs of Salem

I've gotta say I'm pretty impressed with Wgn America's "Salem." It pushes the envelope way farther than I thought it would for network TV with all sorts of weird and ghastly imagery. That being said... It's about to get some music to go with it!

As per THR, Wgn America's "Salem" has released its opening titles ahead of the second episode, and the sequence sets a suitably dark tone for the series -- thanks in large part to vocals provided by Marilyn Manson.

The singer, who's no stranger to the macabre, makes his TV scoring debut with series composer Tyler Bates on the song "Cupid Carries a Gun." The 50-second titles for the Fox 21-produced period drama make their debut during the April 27 episode.

"The song 'Cupid Carries a Gun' was the last track we just finished for my new album," says Manson. "The occult and witchcraft [are] so often »

The film draws inspiration from the Philip Experiment of 1972, in which Canadian academic researchers tried to prove that telekinesis, poltergeists, and the like manifest solely through the human mind.

A quick trip to YouTube yielded some fruits for us paranormal-loving souls. The video you see below contains actual footage from the aforementioned experiment, and honestly? It's pretty damned interesting. Check it out, and tell us what you make of it!

The Quiet Ones is written and directed by John Pogue (Quarantine 2) and stars Jared Harris ("Mad Men," The Ward), Sam Claflin (Snow White and the Huntsman, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire), Erin Richards ("Breaking In," "Being Human"), Olivia Cooke ("The Secret of Crickley Hall," "The »
