Legislative Time Capsule
Compiled by the Minnesota Legislative Reference Library
The Legislative Time Capsule pages consolidate important statistics
and materials for each biennial session of the Legislature. Back to
territorial times, you can quickly find information
for each legislative session on members, bills, laws, vetoes, dates,
special sessions, leadership, and more.
The data come from the House and Senate, the Office of the Revisor of
Statutes, Legislative Manuals, and lists compiled by the Legislative
Reference Library.
The Minnesota Legislative Library has tracked legislative statistics for
decades. What first started as typewritten lists in notebooks became text
files on a computer and then pages on our website. The Time Capsule is the
next step in the library's efforts to more widely share our unique
collections.
These pages are phase one of a long term project. As time and
staffing allow, we will add legislative district
descriptions, links to books and articles about the activities of
each biennium, and more. Please let us know if you have ideas for
information to include, or errors to correct.
