Declarative Rabbit Archives - Comics Should Be Good! @ Comic Book Resources

11/7 – Declarative Rabbit Says…

The object everyone is fighting to get in Secret Six is quite a clever idea, it almost makes up for the inclusion of Tarantula in the comic!

Having a superhero who is made up of the ashes interred in the Tomb of the Unknowns is a really cool idea.

Batman #680 was awesome, but I hope that twist at the end (no matter how well executed it was, and it was extremely well executed) is just a feint and not the actual Black Glove.

9/25 – Declarative Rabbit Says…

By the time X-Men: Legacy and Wolverine: Origins are done, every single X-Men issue from the past 45 years will have had SOME sort of sinister retcon behind it (“that time Colossus and Juggernaut fought in the bar was a plan by Wolverine to cover for the assassination of Jubilee’s parents!” or “Professor X sent Dracula after Storm to teach the X-Men a lesson about vampire protection!”)

All Star Superman #12 was good.

Heck, All Star Superman #1-12 was good.

Whether you loved the change or disliked it, Chris Claremont dramatically (and retroactively) changed the characterization of the comic book character Magneto.

Mark Smith and Marcelo Dichiara’s Kill All Parents is a fun look at superhero tropes in a surprisingly rare (and therefore, quite admirable on their part for trying) format – a 36-page one-shot.

3/27 – Declarative Rabbit Also Says…

Speaking of Pat Gleason, DC really needs to give him a major title to draw. He is too awesome to be drawing only the secondary Green Lantern title.

3/27 – Declarative Rabbit Says…

Grant Morrison can’t possibly have only 15 or so Superman stories to tell, so All Star Superman should just continue indefinitely, with different artists (Pat Gleason would be a nice pick), whenever Morrison wants to tell a story (can’t be any less regular of a schedule than it currently has).

DC should make more New Frontier specials. Maybe four a year (at least). Cooke doesn’t even have to draw any of them! He can just write them.

2/18 – Declarative Rabbit Says…

It’d be cool if DC killed off Carter Hall and had him be reincarnated as an actual Egyptian guy this time around – it’d give DC more diversity (IS there an Egyptian superhero of any note in the DCU?) without having to replace a notable character.

There is only one “n” in Winick.

Joss Whedon really should not kill off Kitty Pryde (note that there is always a minute chance that he might not kill her off, as the comic has not actually come out yet, so who knows? Maybe she won’t die.). It is a dumb idea.
