Kanye West, Katy Perry Lead MTV Video Music Awards 2011 Nominees List

The 2011 MTV Video Music Awards nominees have been revealed  and US rapper Kanye West leads the list with 11 nominations while pop american singer-songwriter and actress Katy Perry follows closely with nine. Kanye shares five nominations with Perry for his feature in her video ‘E.T‘. English singer-songwriter Adele trails with seven nominations.

The nominees list was announced by Perry herself on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 and the awards will held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, California on Sunday, August 28, 2011.

‘We are thrilled to return to Los Angeles where the energy of the city will help power the creative spirit of the 28th annual VMAs. The city is the perfect backdrop for all the musical moments, mayhem and magic that make the VMAs such a notorious celebration’, MTV president Steven Friedman said in a statement.
